the days feel so short right now and it is still only November. i've been needing to scratch my creative itch and decided to practice my patchwork. this sh$t is harder than it looks.

but i just cannot stand to have plain, boring chairs 😅
this is 1 of 4 - prayers needed to ensure it doesn't join my pile of unfinished projects.

whipping some beef tallow lotion this morning. been making my own skincare for as long as i have been home butchering, i use fresh fat, cleaned, chopped and rendered. passed through a paper filter, cooled in bars and stored frozen until my next batch of ptoduct is needed.

i make skincare with pork lard as well, it is LOVELY and nourishing.
i use this as sunscreen. makeup remover. leather conditioner. udder balm.
tallow makes amazing face cream, baby bum salve, aftershave balm, moisturizer. it is the BEST barrier cream, protecting your skin ❤️‍🩹

this particular batch has 3 ingredients. THREE.

beef fat, olive oil and grapefruit essential oil

'tis the season to harvest all things green and turn them to shrivelled but mighty tea ingredients.
right now, here in southeastern NB we are digging dandelion root and collecting catnip leaves. we are going on woods walks with baskets and water bottles.
plaintain. usnea. pine. yarrow. coltsfoot. horsetail. wild rose. stinging nettle. red clover. mullein.
red raspberry. one of my favorites 🫶

known for relieving pains during menstruation.
and a lovely light fruit flavor

in sunny Sussex, NB today with my girl Cleo picking up some last minute supplies for the trade show in Fredericton this weekend.

i will be there with a great selection of cotton and wool menstrual pads and pantiliners, as well as bath bombs and tallow butter, stickers, decals and a few surprises.

this is my first event in our capital city and i am excited to be up at dawn, farm work done and out the door to be ready and set up for 10am at the Delta Hotel. come by my booth for some free info about sustainable and healthy menstrual products.
