Toxic Drug Alert: Northern Health Region

A purple paste/sample sold as ‘down’ has tested positive for fentanyl, benzos and medetomidine. Medetomidine is a non-opioid sedative that can cause an increase in overdose and fatal overdose, complex drug poisoning which involves deep and prolonged sedation and very low pulse.

Gitanmaax Health Presents: GLA:D Canada Program – Session 2!

What is it?
An evidence-based education + exercise program for those experiencing hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.

Starts: Week of September 9, 2025
Schedule: 2 classes/week for 8 weeks
Location: Gitanmaax Health & Wellness Centre – Elder's Room

Who Can Join?
• Gitanmaax members with hip or knee arthritis symptoms
• Only 5 spots available per session
• Unsure if you qualify? A physiotherapist assessment is available!

Led by: Robynne Lobban, Certified GLA:D Physiotherapist

Stay safe when your home gets hot. (Shared)

With hot temperatures in parts of BC this week, be aware that extreme heat is most dangerous indoors. Many buildings in BC are made to trap heat in during the winter, making them hotter inside in the summer.

One way to keep your home cooler is to close your curtains and blinds and cover the outside of the glass to reflect the heat away. If you have a basement, if will often be the coolest room.
