Due to a temporary shortage of surgical assistant support, Wetaskiwin Hospital & Care Centre will have a temporary pause on surgical and high-risk obstetrical services on the following dates and times:

• High-risk patients will be safely redirected through RAAPID

Late Pregnancy Prenatal Group Classes

There is still room available in our Late Pregnancy Prenatal Group Classes for expecting parents who are 22+ weeks pregnant.

These classes offer support and education to help you feel more prepared and confident as you approach birth.

• Coping with labour
• Medical interventions during labour
• Preparing for breastfeeding
• What to expect in the first weeks after birth
• And more

💻 Online Prenatal Classes
Complete at your own pace and learn about pregnancy changes, labor and birth, and caring for your newborn.

🩺 One-to-One Prenatal Sessions
Nurses at MHS are available for individual prenatal education sessions (approximately 3.5 hours).
🕘 Available Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

🚗 Transportation may be available.
✔ Completion of late pregnancy classes, online classes, or 1:1 sessions may make you eligible for a car seat (must be completed before 34 weeks gestation).

Harm Reduction Session – Naloxone Training

Harm reduction is essential in our community and supports family members, friends, and others impacted by substance use. This session provides practical education on overdose awareness, prevention, and response.

Participants will learn how to recognize an overdose, practice using Naloxone kits, and understand what to do during an overdose crisis. The session is offered in a non-judgmental, culturally grounded, and compassionate environment focused on safety and wellness.

This session offers a peaceful and supportive space to connect with horses, nature, and yourself. Equine therapy can support emotional healing, grounding, self-awareness, and overall well-being.

Join us for a meaningful Trauma and Resilience Workshop designed to support healing, strength, and personal growth. This gathering offers a safe, respectful, and supportive space to listen, learn, and reflect alongside Elders and the Mental Health team.

Together, we will explore how trauma affects the mind, body, and spirit, while sharing practical tools to build resilience, coping skills, and inner strength through connection and community.
