Thank you for visiting my site and for your interest into my background. My name is Jonathan Myers (He,Him), originally from the U.S. but I have been living in Canada with my wife Amanda since 2016. Since graduating in 2018 from the Canadian Colledge of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, I have spent the past 7 years in the massage profession working with individuals of all ages and walks of life throughout the HRM in multi-disciplinary settings. I love working with clients on their well-being journey toward maintaining and developing healthiness of the body and mind using a patient focused, and goal-oriented approach to massage therapy. My treatment approach is relaxing, communicative, and professional and I call on a variety of effective therapeutic and relaxation techniques to consistently meet my client's massage goals. While working with clients I try to understand through simple conversation what our goals for the session will be and make assessments as needed to plan and execute a relaxing, therapeutic, goal oriented and safe massage experience. I adjust each treatment plan to reflect the unique needs of each client, listening to what they are telling me with words and their nonverbal responses throughout the massage. My approach is customized to each patient’s needs and preferences, and adapts over time as we make progress and their goals evolve and change. I do offer deep tissue, direct fascial, trigger point release and joint mobilizations within my massages, as they are popular and effective techniques for those clients who feel they benefit from direct work on known areas of concern. I also offer Hot stone, Cupping and Gua Sha massage, all Eastern massage styles using tools for deep tissue results. These more direct techniques can be helpful with getting the general tension and "knots" to soften in our musculature, and relieve conditions like reduced range of motion, postural discomfort, tension headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, ITB syndrome and plantar fasciitis to name just a few. I also meet clients needs with lightly applied treatments, such as indirect fascial release, lymphatic drainage and Swedish massage techniques, for those who suffer from migraine headaches, TMJ issues, fibromyalgia related issues and other more delicate conditions and body types which require a more sensitive approach. I feel I can be effective for anyone looking for massage therapy and have good success in helping any clients working with anxiety around receiving massage. I look forward to helping anyone living or visiting the St. Margrete's Bay area with great massage treatments!
