🌼 Tend Your Garden — and Your Body!

🌿 Getting your hands in the dirt shouldn’t mean aching in your back or knees.

Here are 5 physio-approved ergonomic tips to keep you gardening and feeling great all season long:

1. Warm Up First 🧘‍♀️ Loosen up with a few light stretches or a short walk before diving into digging and weeding.

2. Use Kneeling Pads or Raised Beds 🧤 Reduce strain on your back and knees — your joints will thank you!

3. Lift with Your Legs 💪 Bend at the knees, keep your back straight, and avoid twisting when moving soil or pots.

4. Switch Positions Often 🔄 Every 20 minutes, stand, stretch, or change your task to avoid overloading one area.

5. Choose Ergonomic Tools 🌿 Long-handled, padded tools can ease stress on your hands, wrists, and shoulders.

➡️ A few small changes can make a big difference.

Still feeling sore after a day in the garden? Book in with us — we’re here to help your body feel as healthy as your harvest!

Meet Megan! 🤸‍♀️

Megan grew up in Allan, SK. She has a Kinesiology undergraduate degree and completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan in 2024. Growing up as a competitive dancer, Megan developed a deep passion for movement, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in physical therapy. During her time in school, she also worked as a dance teacher, blending her love for dance with her desire to help others improve their movement and overall well-being.

Megan treats orthopedic conditions and has a particular interest in working with older adults and dancers. However, she enjoys working with individuals of all ages and helping them achieve their movement goals, no matter their background. In her free time, Megan enjoys staying active with friends, rollerblading, and dancing—activities that keep her connected to her passion for movement and wellness.

Megan is excited to be part of a team dedicated to helping individuals recover, improve function, and live more active and fulfilling lives.

Meet Rebecca – our newest team member and amazing RMT!

Rebecca graduated from McKay Remedial Massage Therapy in 2022 and brings a wide range of skills to our clinic, including therapeutic deep tissue, relaxation, prenatal massage, myofascial cupping, and aromatherapy. 👐💆‍♀️

Born and raised in Saskatoon, she’s just as comfortable with a massage table as she is with a curling broom or binge-watching Criminal Minds 🥌🧠. When she's not at the clinic, you'll probably find her “helping” (AKA chatting everyone’s ear off) at her husband's family farm!🚜💬

Rebecca starts offering massage appointments on June 19, so be sure to book early — your muscles will thank you. 💪
