🏠 Fall Prevention at Home

Did you know that most falls in older adults happen at home? The good news - small changes can make a big difference in staying safe and independent.

✅ Simple ways to reduce fall risk:
• Remove clutter and keep walkways clear
• Add nightlights in hallways and bathrooms
• Install grab bars near toilets and in the shower
• Use non-slip mats in the bathroom and kitchen
• Ensure rugs are secured or use rug grips
• Keep frequently used items within easy reach
• Wear supportive, well-fitting shoes — even indoors

Why you may be stiff in the mornings.

☀️ Waking up feeling like the Tin Man?

Morning stiffness is common — especially in cooler weather or if you’ve been sitting too long the day before.

✅ The fix: gentle movement first thing.
Try this 3-minute routine before reaching for the coffee:

1️⃣ Neck rolls
2️⃣ Shoulder shrugs
3️⃣ Standing toe touches
4️⃣ March in place

Movement = better circulation = less stiffness.
