What is healthy food? Is it the food pyramid? What about going vegan? Or is it the carnivore diet? Or AIP, paleo, keto...the list goes on and on. The truth is, it's not a one size fits all situation.
There are various diet protocols for different conditions. One diet may suit you very well for a period of time, then as your body changes, your dietary needs may change.
I work a lot with gut healing protocols. One protocol is a 1 or 2 year journey (I work with you for a period to learn some new eating habits), while another is a three step protocol, each lasting 6 to 8 weeks. They are pretty easy to stick with and clients feel very happy and satisfied once they learn a few tricks and tips.
What do I eat? I eat whatever I want! But 80% of the time, I choose paleo or healthy keto style depending on where I am in my cycle...yup, you can control all your hormones with food! Just as you can control your aches and pains, digestive issues, even autoimmune disease symptoms with the food you eat.
The input influences the output and everyone is different. After all, you wouldn't get very good results filling a diesel truck with gas, right?
The picture below is a stirfry I made for supper last week, the next night we had mashed potatoes, roast and brussel sprouts. We also eat chicken fingers, pizza and have wing nights.
