May is Sexual Violence Prevention Month
49.5% of the women and 37.5% of the men who make up our Saskatchewan workforce have faced harassment or assault in their workplace. That’s higher than the national average. Action is needed from our business leaders to make safe workplaces. Employers who invest in creating a respectful work culture are leading positive change.

In Saskatchewan, we are facing some of our nation's highest rates of sexual violence. We see, in what seems like weekly headlines, instances of people in our province being affected by violence: children being exploited online, vulnerable people being trafficked, and our community members being assaulted and abused. We can prevent these harms, if we work together.

Each of us can be a leader in preventing sexual violence. For some of us, an act of leadership can be teaching a child or youth about healthy boundaries or donating to a local survivor-support organization. For others, it can be leading change in work culture or provincial policy. We all have a role to play.

This May, we call on all residents of Saskatchewan to take action to prevent sexual violence.

It has come to our attention that the Autism presentation for Caregivers conflicts with another local event for parents and folks who work with youth regarding online safety. This is a very valuable opportunity to learn more about a serious issue in our community and we would like to encourage attendance at that event.

Parents and Caregivers can learn about online risks, prevention strategies, red flags, and the law at the Bella Vista Hotel on Tuesday April 21, at 6:30pm. Contact .pgss Prairie Gateway Settlement Services for more information.

Check out this event coming up April 22nd!
