Our fast-paced, high-stress world has created a culture that is focused on convenience and speed and that includes how we eat. As a holistic nutrition consultant I believe in slowing it down, keeping it simple and getting back to basics. With the epidemic rise in obesity and degenerative diseases, the link between what goes into your mouth and your health is undeniable. Many are turning to holistic nutrition as a way to not only feed their bodies and prevent disease but as a way to eat their way back to health. Holistic nutrition is all about eating healthy foods that are as close to their natural state as possible for maximum health and well being. Key words you will hear from me include unrefined, unprocessed, organic and locally grown whole foods. My approach hinges on the belief that the human body is self-healing and when given the right elements, will always strive for balance and health. My job is to inspire and teach you to love the foods that will love you back.

The real reasons why you are carrying extra weight:

1) Insulin resistance leads to:
-weight gain
-cravings
-energy crashes
-inflammation
-poor sleep
-metabolic syndrome and more...
Getting a handle on your insulin picture is essential

2)Toxins
Processed, refined and convenience foods are addictive and they contain a lot of chemicals, additives, colouring and flavouring agents - aka toxins.
Toxins are stored in the fat. Releasing fat means releasing those toxins into the general circulation. Your body may be reluctant to put you at risk if you can't properly move those toxins out. I make sure my clients are detoxifying well before beginning a weight loss protocol.

3)Protein / Carb balance:
We all have different requirements for protein and healthy carbs. We are all unique. The program that I work with is personalized and relies on your blood values to determine the proper ratio of protein / carbohydrates that is ideal for YOU.

4) Are you depleted?
Healthy weight loss requires a lot of nutrients. If you've been running on fumes and coffee, your body may decide it's safer to slow down metabolism than to allow those dangerous toxins to be released into the circulation.

5) Stress
For our ancestors, times of high stress (war, famine, other physical danger) were NOT times to release precious reserves. We were not designed to be in a chronic state of stress. Our bodies perceive the hormones of stress (even if it's from watching the news) as danger and will hold on to reserves in order to protect you.

Contemplating changing diet and lifestyle can be scary.

It will probably mean moving out of your comfort zone for a little while.

But only UNTIL you build NEW HABITS and create your new UPGRADED comfort zone ✨

One thing is for sure. Not changing will = the same results.

If you're on the fence, I urge you to continue to explore, do your due diligence, read the testimonials, read the clients highlights, and while you're doing that, tune in to your body and what you're feeling.

''I've screwed up, I've broken the rules, I've lost control, I may as well throw in the towel and give up... F**k it''

Buckling down, white knuckling it, grinding through or forcing yourself is counterproductive and sets you up for failure in the long-term.

Bringing in some self-compassion and allowing yourself to have what you're craving (in a reasonable amount, without the guilt or self- pounding) and then getting back on track, is much more sustainable.

What we resist persists.
Denial increases desire
