Vinyasa is an active, strength-based practice, ideal for those who enjoy movement and flow. In this class, you’ll move from pose to pose in coordination with your breath, sequencing poses together in a seamless flow.

Vinyasa has an intentionality to it that other flow yoga classes may not. In a vinyasa class, you’ll be cued to tweak your alignment, fine tune each posture, and achieve an almost meditative state of deep body awareness as you move through the practice. You will sweat; you may or may not curse me under your breath. Just as long as you’re breathing.

This practice is based on the Iyengar yoga method—a strength- and alignment-based practice that utilizes props (straps, blocks, etc.) to help you get the most out of each pose—and modifications are available and encouraged throughout the class. Vinyasa is best for those who are able to get up and down from the floor with ease.

Yin yoga is a long, slow practice that is suitable for all levels. It’s ideal for those who never sit still, who know they need to slow down and practice moments of stillness, but never seem to be able to make that happen.

Of all the yogic practices, yin has the most profound impact on chronic tightness & tension in the shoulders, hips, lower back, hamstrings, and neck. The goal of yin isn’t deep muscular stretching—these postures target the joints and connective tissues with 3–7 minute holds to create more space and energetic flow in the body.

Yin yoga is meant to be practiced when the muscles are cold. Rather than striving for an ideal final pose, you’ll use props (and gravity) to determine the best and most comfortable position for your body.

Yin is suitable for beginners and is ideal for anyone experiencing chronic or habitual tightness or tension in their body. It’s particularly good for athletes, anyone recovering from an injury, desk sitters, and anyone who has a job where their posture is fixed for long periods of time (eg. hair stylists, dental hygienists, massage therapists, and care aides).

Gentle yoga is a grounding, slower-paced, vinyasa practice with minimal strain on your body, ideal for people who struggle with anxiety.

We’ll skip the planks and sun salutations and take our time moving through the practice, using plenty of props to feel well-supported and comfortable throughout.

Gentle yoga is ideal for beginners and anyone looking for a more meditative practice. Each class will culminate in a peak pose, giving you space and time to feel into the nuances and subtleties of each posture.

This is one of the most popular classes on the schedule and for good reason. This class is where you’ll establish the foundation that will support the rest of your practice (and everything else you do in your life).

Each class follows a sequence of mobilize ➡️ stabilize ➡️ load ➡️ integrate and includes yin postures, deep core & pelvic floor work, hip mobility, and longevity drills, with a deep relaxation at the end of every class.

You’ll learn movements you can include in your day-to-day movement practices and before or after workouts to improve your overall wellbeing.

This class is ideal for midlife and older women, crossfitters or anyone who strength trains, desk sitters, and anyone who wants more stability, strength, and mobility in their body.

Exciting news!

We've officially moved back to our studio at 1010 Water Street!

Join me for our first week of the spring schedule starting tonight with Yin!

If you haven't tried yin yoga or it's been a while since you've come to a class, this is a beginner friendly practice suited to anyone who feels stuck or tight.

If you're athletic, sit at a desk, or have a job where you hold the same position for a long period of time (dental hygienist, hair stylist, massage therapist etc) —yin is a fantastic practice for unwinding habitual postural habits in your body.

It's a deeply relaxing practice that uses gravity, body weight, and props to create space in your body.

Yin happens on Sundays & Thursdays at 7pm.

On Monday, I'll be sharing our first Vinyasa Flow yoga class. This is a new class on the schedule, similar to flow but more structured and intentional. Each class will follow a similar sequence and will work toward a peak posture.

Vinyasa is an intermediate class (not ideal for beginners, but if you've been coming to flow, you can do this class no problem!) designed to help you focus, get strong, and improve your physical practice with supportive instruction and hands-on guidance.

You can join me for vinyasa on Mondays at 7pm and Fridays at 6:30am.

If you like to move through your practice, but want a more gentle approach, join us on Wednesday mornings for Gentle Vinyasa Flow.

And of course, Hips, Hams and Core will be happening on Tuesday at 5:45.

You can save your spot at the link on our bio and I'll see you in class this week!

All classes will be at 1010 Water Street. Park on the street then come down the driveway to behind the house. The studio is the grey building behind the house. You don't need to knock, just open the door and make yourself at home!

Ever notice how hip openers feel emotional?

This is the pose I practise when feelings feel stuck and I can’t explain them.

Move slowly.
Support your hips if needed.
Breathe through the intensity — don’t force it.

Sometimes emotional release is just quiet awareness.

When the world feels heavy.

Sometimes we don’t need to “fix” anything.
We just need space to breathe again.

This gentle heart opener helps create room in the ribs, the lungs, and the front body — places we often tighten when we’re stressed.

Stay for 2–5 minutes.
Let it be soft.

Save this for later.

When you feel disconnected from your body.

Lying face down with support under the hips can feel deeply grounding.

Let your belly soften into the bolster.
Feel your breath expand into your back.

Some days this more accurately describes my practice than anything else.

A reminder that yoga is something we do for enjoyment and perfection never ever needs to be the goal. The key is self-compassion, humour, and a willingness for it to be awkward.

If you've never practiced before, just know that I've been practicing and teaching for 15+ years and my practice isn't aesthetically perfect, but it does exactly what I need it to do for me.

Don't let fear of those perfect poses and bodies you see on social media deter you from practicing either online or in person.

Perimenopause is coming to yoga in a sweater and leaving in a tank top. The struggle is real.

Anyone else?

Some days all I do is a downdog and pigeon and call it a practice. It keeps me grounded, reminds me that I have a body, and gets me out of my head for just a little while.
