We are REALLY enjoying our outings right now! This lazy, hazy, dog day of summer brought us to Berrylicious Fruit Farm in Burgessville. We enjoyed the hot day with the freshest raspberries, blueberry scones and apple crisp with ice cream. Their very own Elderberry and Apple Lemonade was wonderful and refreshing! Living life to the fullest; this is what summer is all about ☀️!

Today at Embrace Your Abilities with Sheila we enjoyed creating cherry blossom trees with a broccoli stem. Who says you can’t play with your food?!
Each creation was unique as they maneuvered the broccoli stem to make the cherry blossoms; putting a touch of green grass at the bottom of their pictures. Next, Sheila talked about all the nutritious benefits of broccoli. The residents also found words within words for "Broccoli stem"; 76 in all! Our afternoon was finished off with homemade peppermint peach iced tea that Sheila had made. As the afternoon event finished, each participant admired their artistic design that was hung outside the activity room. Beautiful job done by all!

Balloon Volleyball with pool noodles brought lots of laughter, chatter and encouragement as each side cheered each other on! Their highest volley back and forth was 58 with each and every participant being so involved they kept asking for “One more game!”
