We’re so excited to share that the Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association has been nominated for Best of Kamloops 2026 in the category of Best Non-Profit Organization! 🐴💙

This recognition means so much to our riders, families, volunteers, and community who make our programs possible.

Nominations are open until May 11 at 3:00 pm, and every nomination helps us move forward to the voting round. If our program has made an impact on you or someone you know, we would truly appreciate your support!

We’re excited to share that we’ve received a $4,100 grant from TELUS and TELUS Friendly Future Foundation in support of our Riding with Voice: Tech for Non-Verbal Riders initiative.

This funding will allow us to purchase TouchChat, a communication app that will empower non-verbal riders to express their needs, make choices, and actively participate in their lessons. From asking a horse to “walk on” to connecting more meaningfully with instructors and volunteers, these moments help build confidence, independence, and connection.

This is about more than technology—it’s about ensuring every rider has the opportunity to be heard.

There is currently a police situation happening on Shuswap Rd between River Vista Dr and just
past our barn. No one can get to the barn.

We don’t have any more information on what is happening or how long it will take so we have decided to cancel the rest of today’s lessons.

We are looking for some bales of straw for a couple of our program horses on strict diets.

We are looking for a volunteer on Saturdays to clean paddocks (10) starting in May until mid September. You must have previous and fairly recent paddock cleaning experience.

There is a possibility for this to be in exchange for riding a horse but only those with advance and recent experience.
