When life feels busy, stressful, and constantly go-go-go, relaxation doesn’t just happen, it’s something we practice intentionally. Here are 3 ways to start:
1. Downshift your nervous system on purpose.
2–5 minutes of slow breathing, a walk without your phone, or placing a hand on your chest can signal to your body that it’s safe to slow down.
2. Create micro-pauses, to help recover.
You don’t always need a full day off to reset. A quiet coffee, stepping outside between tasks, or sitting in your car for a minute before going inside all count.
3. Lower the bar for productive rest periods.
Rest doesn’t need to be earned. Let yourself do something that feels neutral or comforting without turning it into another goal.
Small moments add up more than you think.
