Running Late… Then You See Roadworks!

You’re already behind.
School drop-off ran overtime.
The boss wants you in early.
You’ve got a delivery window.
An appointment you can’t miss.
Then up ahead… brake lights. Cones. A stop bat.

And your stomach drops.

We get it.

Most drivers stopped at roadworks aren’t annoyed because they hate traffic control.

They’re stressed because they’re under pressure.

Deadlines.
Shift starts.
Kids.
Clients.
Life.

But here’s the reality:

The crew on the road?
They’re on a schedule too.

☆ They have lane occupancy permits.
☆ Time restrictions.
☆ Traffic flow windows.
☆ Weather constraints.

And a job that must be completed safely before reopening.

Letting “just one through” can

• Break the traffic plan
• Put plant operators at risk
• Create head-on conflicts
• Delay everyone even longer

Traffic control isn’t there to test your patience.
It’s there to prevent a bad day becoming a tragic one.

If you’re running late and hit roadworks, it’s frustrating, absolutely.

But arriving 5 minutes late is always better than not arriving at all.

Next time you’re stopped and the clock is ticking…

Take the pause.
Breathe.
Send the “running 5 late” text.

We’ll get you moving as soon as it’s safe.

Stay safe out there.

This weekend, momentum will build for the Kamloops Centre for the Arts Project!

To support next steps in this exciting project, traffic lanes and parking stall lines will be adjusted to accommodate a growing work site.

An ongoing closure of 4th Avenue from Seymour Street to St. Paul Street will also be required as essential preparation and work takes place. Pedestrian and business access will maintained.

👉 Please take care when driving in the area and obey all signage and traffic control personnel.
