Everyone talks about baby's bottom care, hygiene and diet, but who is talking about mom's? Us, the doulas 😉 We're the weird friend at the baby shower gifting stool softener and organic cotton pads because we know you'll thank us later 😁
Hormone fluctuations, leaking milk, discharge, sweat, and that dreaded first postpartum p**p - these are the items to help!
Our must have postpartum items for the postpartum parent:
✨️ Witch Hazel/hemorrhoid pads (bonus, keep them cold, it'll feel even better!) These work for swelling not just hemorrhoids
✨️ Liquid witch hazel can be added to regular pads if you're wanting to avoid bulk during outings
✨️ 100% organic pads. Your postpartum skin is SENSITIVE!
✨️ Shower wipes - that postpartum sweat is no joke and you can't easily shower 3xs a day to keep up
✨️ Deodorant wipes - perfect for the diaper bag and unlike deodorant, it won't melt in your bag
✨️ Dry shampoo - see also hormone shifts and sweating
✨️ Nursing pads to keep your bra from getting moist and irritating sensitive skin
✨️ Water, water, water!! A straw cup is everything. Stay hydrated helps with healing, sweating, nursing, AND those dreaded first postpartum p**ps
✨️ ALLLLL the fresh produce, again, that p**p
✨️ Stool softeners, if you've had any pain meds, c-section, etc., these are sooo helpful
✨️ Peri bottle - rinse and dab, don't wipe that sensitive skin (or stitches) hard!
✨️ A robe - layer on, layer off, while navigating temperature fluctuations. Yay hormones!
✨️ Adult diapers - a pack of diapers for baby and a pack for you! Clutch in those first few days, and especially at night. Cut down on worrying about leaking through a pad
✨️ Dermoplast - to help with perineal pain
Want to be THE best gifter at the shower? Your recognition might have to wait, but you'll get ALL the praise later. Use these items to make a postpartum survival gift bag!
