It’s that time of year again where we ask you to check your closets and cupboards for any unwanted warm clothing for men and women.

If you have sweaters, coats, hats, gloves, warm socks and any of clothing that you don’t wear anymore that’s taking up space, we will gladly take it off your hands.

Please drop off to The Clubhouse at 857 Seymour St between 9-2pm Mon- Fri.

Thank you for helping keep folks warm 💛 & thank you, Joe for helping us sort and organize clothing donations (pictured).

🧡 Truth and Reconciliation Day at the Clubhouse 🧡

A heartfelt thank you to Niki for facilitating a beautiful and meaningful beading workshop this week in honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day. Your guidance helped us connect, reflect, and create with intention.

We began the day with a thoughtful land acknowledgement from Clubhouse member Bella — thank you, Bella, for grounding us in the spirit of respect and reflection.

Lunch was a special gathering around chili and fresh bannock, lovingly prepared by our incredible CMHA kitchen team. Much appreciation for the time, care, and tradition you brought to the meal.

Together, we honoured the day with community, culture, and conversation. 🧡🪶

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honour Survivors, their families, and communities affected by the residential school system.

At CMHA Kamloops, reconciliation is not a single act but an ongoing commitment. Over the past year, we’ve deepened our learning through cultural safety training, strengthened relationships with Indigenous partners, and prioritized Indigenous voices in shaping how we serve our community.

We know reconciliation requires both truth and action. We continue to listen, to reflect, and to hold ourselves accountable as we take meaningful steps forward & together.

🧡 Today and every day, we commit to creating spaces of safety, respect, and healing.

♻️ It was Recycling Awareness Week at The Clubhouse, and we had an awesome time learning all about recycling, waste, and how to properly sort items! 🙌 A huge thank you to City of Kamloops - Municipal Government for providing amazing resources that helped us create a fun and educational hands-on sorting station. 🌍💚 Every small action counts toward a greener future!

💰 Budgeting 101 at The Clubhouse!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting Taffy from the Kamloops Women’s Centre for a hands-on Budgeting 101 Workshop! 🙌

11 Clubhouse members joined in to learn practical tips and tools to take control of their finances. Big thanks to Taffy for sharing her time and knowledge! 💡💸

The Kamloops Women’s Centre host a number of free community events and opportunities to connect, learn and grow ✨

A huge thank you to Maren and Remi Chan, who raised $602.05 through their Lemonade Day stand and generously donated the proceeds to support mental health in Kamloops.

Your kindness and commitment to helping others at such a young age is inspiring. Every contribution makes a difference, and Maren and Remi remind us that together, we can build a healthier, more caring community.

On behalf of all of us at CMHA Kamloops, thank you for your generosity and for being role models of compassion and community spirit!

We are urgently in need of men's clothing items for the apparel shop at The Clubhouse.

Jeans, socks, shoes, t-shirts, joggers, hoodies, underwear, coats and any other clothing in good condition from sizes small to 2XL.

We are closed on the stat holiday Monday 1st Sep, but we will be open again on Tuesday, Sep 2 from 9am and would be so grateful to receive all the unwanted things taking up space in your closets!

The apparel shop is a place where members can access a number of free clothing items per month.

"I needed a pair of shoes and pants for an interview and I was able to get what I needed at the apparel shop."

"My income doesn't stretch to be able to afford new clothes. In the apparel shop, I can find new to me things and I appreciate it so much."

Thank you to everyone who is already a supporter of our apparel shop. We do also accept women's clothing, bedding, towels and sheets - but we are running out of men's items!

Also - big thanks to Dan, pictured below, who volunteers every week through Volunteer Kamloops and does an incredible job of keeping the shop clean and organised! Many thanks also to Nicole, who has been a champion for so many people in her role at Volunteer Kamloops! 💛
