We’re told to slow down.
Be intentional.
Set a timer for five minutes.
Do your breath work.
And we know these things.
But how often do you actually do them?
Most of us are living at a pace that doesn’t leave space. We move from task to task, living inside a never-ending to-do list. And when we add “regulate nervous system” to that list?
It can actually create more pressure.
“Oh sh*t, I forgot to meditate.”
“I didn’t do my deep breathing today.”
“I should be calmer than this.”
That’s not regulation.
That’s more stress.
If you’re feeling dysregulated or wired and tired, fluttery in your chest, tight in your belly...
what if instead of trying to fix it, you just felt it?
Pause.
Name it.
“I feel anxious.”
“My chest feels tight.”
“My body feels braced.”
Not to change it.
Not to override it.
Just to acknowledge it.
When you bring awareness to sensation without trying to control it, something shifts. Your nervous system feels seen instead of corrected.
And over time, patterns become clear.
You start noticing when it happens.
What triggers it.
What your body actually needs.
Regulation isn’t always another task.
Sometimes it’s simply welcoming awareness into the moment you’re already in.
Your body doesn’t need more pressure.
It needs presence. 🌿
