I know there has been nothing going on here on the Stork to Cradle Instagram page for the last few months, but there has definitely been lots happening in real life.

Suvannah is still taking clients and attending births, still always in awe of the strength of women, and starry eyed over all the delicious babies!

I will try to be more consistent posting here. 😊

Lessons about birth from the past few births I’ve been at:
- Birth requires patience. It is everything. It can also be HARD. For the birthing person & for their support team
- The more you’ve prepared yourself with information and good support, the less you need to question of what you’re feeling is normal and the more you can stay in your “birth zone”
- No one can predict birth, but good support can help smooth the adjustment when the unpredictable happens
- Birth can be simultaneously hard and beautiful. It does not need to be “easy”
- A positive experience often has little to do with outcomes and a lot to do with how you’ve felt (supported, heard, loved, believed) throughout the experience
- Preserve energy in early labor and sustain that energy by eating & hydrating throughout your labor
