✨ Caesarean Birth Awareness Month ✨

April is Caesarean Birth Awareness Month, and we want to take a moment to emphasize something important—the word birth. Because that’s exactly what a Caesarean birth is! You are giving birth to your baby, even if it looks a little different from a vaginal birth.

Some people say a Caesarean birth is “the easy way out”—but let us tell you, that couldn’t be further from the truth. A Caesarean birth is major abdominal surgery, requiring incredible strength and resilience.

What happens during a Caesarean birth?
A Caesarean birth involves carefully opening seven layers of tissue to reach the uterus and deliver the baby. These layers include skin, fat, fascia, muscle, and the uterus itself. Each layer is carefully repaired afterward, with the uterus often being closed with a double layer of stitching. The recovery can be intense, requiring weeks of healing and postpartum care.

We are so grateful that Caesarean birth exists as a safe option when needed, ensuring the well-being of both babies and parents. But make no mistake—it is not the “easy way out.” It is birth. It is powerful. It is life-giving.

Baby Motor Development Groups

Do you have questions about your baby’s movements or motor skills? These classes are a fun group of parents and babes, where you can learn about how your baby develops and what you can do to help your baby find a new way to explore their world.

Pre-Crawling and Pre-Walking:

Check this out!!!

Just over a month until the “Everything You Wish You Knew: Postpartum Yoga Series” (not the official name, but it describes it well!) I am beyond excited to share my knowledge on yoga, strength building, pelvic floor connection and how they relate to the postpartum body. We get into menstrual cycle tracking (life changing!), healing common ailments caused by pregnancy, postpartum intimacy and so much more. Expect to move your body, and be sure to arrive with an open mind and open heart.

Classes take place from 6:30-7:30pm starting on Monday, October 21 and run for four weeks (how amazing is Kristen and her little studio?!).

This series welcomes anyone who has given birth at any time in their life. Postpartum is forever, and it’s never too late to spend some time reconnecting with the most important person you will spend your life with: YOU!
