Yoga and Yoga Therapy with Margaret Huff Yoga and Yoga Therapy ~ Group and Individual sessions In the tradition of T.K.V.

Desikachar, the son of Krishnamacharya, the style of yoga I aspire to teach has been called "Adult Yoga" as well as "Sustainable Yoga," because of the range of Yoga tools that are potentially employed. It is also an approach well-suited for those not in the market for the sweaty "exercise" workout that most in the west consider yoga to be, but rather for those interested in other yogic tools, such as breath-centered asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation.

From 4 years ago, back on Van Isle!

Why stay indoors
Those muted halls and dull spaces
When the Living World beyond the door awaits
Our re-emergence
She’s already waited such a long time.

How can we resist
Her humble abiding
Her ever-loving, infinitely sustaining, compassionate flow
What insanity makes us deny her beckoning breezes, living air, sweet scents and sounds

How long will she hold this space for us you ask.
Indefinitely.
But why in the world would we keep
Her waiting
one moment more?

The sacred Living Earth
The all-forgiving Mother
Invites our return.

I am offering a Foundations of Yoga 12-week series, in which we'll cover some of the main basics of Yoga: breathing practice (beginner pranayama), posture practice (foundational asana) and meditation practice (dharana). The skill of relaxation will be nourished in this class; students will be encouraged in a more slow, mindful approach with time devoted to balancing the nervous system in the direction of "rest and digest."
Tuesdays, September 21 ~ December 7th ~ 9:30 - 11AM.
Where: The Mind-Body Connection, 253 Victoria Street.

Sit and be still in the time of no rain
you hear beneath the dry winds’s commotion in the trees the sound of flowing water among the rocks, a stream unheard before, and you are where breathing is a prayer.

Within the body you are wearing, now
inside the bones and beating in the heart,
lives the one you have been searching for so long.

But you must stop running away and shake hands,
the meeting doesn’t happen
without your presence . . . your participation.

The same one waiting for you there
is moving in the trees, glistening on the water,
growing in the grasses and lurking in the shadows you create.

You have nowhere to go.
The marriage happened long ago.
Behold your mate.

Our Story
