The Pilates Tree

The Pilates Tree The Pilates Tree is Kamloops' premiere Pilates studio in downtown Kamloops. Our studio is a place of non-judgment, support, stories & laughter. Think of a tree.

We teach Classical Pilates true to Joe's work but we are also a community building positive connections. Does it have all its strength in its limbs? No. A tree is only as strong as its roots and its trunk. Without a strong trunk the tree would fall over. It’s the same for our bodies. If we don’t concentrate on building a good foundation and a strong trunk or core (powerhouse), we’ll end up tight in some places and weak in others, injury-prone and susceptible to the pitfalls of our occupation or chosen form of exercise (or lack there of). The Pilates Tree has something for everyone; offering personal sessions and open studio sessions - all geared to condition your body, mind, and soul. Through Pilates you will reshape your body, making yourself stronger while increasing flexibility and correcting imbalanced movement patterns. Posture is improved, stress and tension are relieved, and mental and physical training become one.

Rolling exercises massage the spine, avoid vertical compression, and require deep abdominal support.

That’s why Pilates included them — to keep the spine youthful and flexible while strengthening your centre and gently decompressing the body.

Strength and mobility, working together. 🤍

Stress shows up in the body.
Tight shoulders. Shallow breathing. A busy mind that won’t slow down.

Pilates helps you reconnect to your body.
To your breath.
To how you feel.

Take an hour for yourself. Your nervous system will thank you. 🤍

A little reminder about our class sizes 🤍

Our classes are intentionally small to make sure everyone gets the attention and guidance they deserve. Because of this, spots can fill quickly — so we always recommend booking ahead when you can.

We do have a 12-hour cancellation policy, and classes may occasionally change if numbers are low. On the flip side, if a class fills up and there’s a waitlist, we’ll always do our best to add another!

As a small local studio, we truly value your support. We’re also always open to class time suggestions and feedback — it helps us build a schedule that works best for our community. ✨

Our Story

Think of a Tree. Does it have all its strength in its limbs? No. A tree is only as strong as its roots and its trunk. Without this, the tree would fall over. It’s the same for our bodies. If we don’t concentrate on building a good foundation and a strong trunk or core (powerhouse), we’ll end up tight in some places and weak in others, injury-prone and susceptible to the pitfalls of our occupation or chosen form of exercise (or lack there of). The Pilates Tree has something for everyone; offering personal and group classes, each geared to condition your body, mind, and soul. We can work at rehab levels or athletic levels, pre surgery or post surgery. Wherever you are at, we will meet you and teach you how to grow/build from there. Through Pilates you will reshape your body, improve your posture, release stress and tension all while building strength and increasing flexibility. This is where mental and physical training become one.
