The team behind the documentary The Ride Ahead is launching a brand-new, fully online National Disability Leadership Series! This 10-month series will help US-based young disabled adults, educators, professionals, and family members grow as disability leaders through presentations, community connections, mentorship, and group projects.

Today is the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, recognized annually on December 3.

This year, CLBC is honouring the leadership and lived experience of our colleagues by sharing the story of Michelle Goos, CLBC Service Delivery Advisor. Michelle brings both professional expertise and personal experience as a parent with a disability.

In our Q&A with Michelle, she speaks about her journey into parenting, the stigma and systemic barriers many parents with disabilities face, the community supports that made a difference, and what inclusion truly means to her.

Michelle also recently spoke on a panel at CLBC’s November Board Meeting, where she presented her newly published research on parenting with a disability.
