Effective communication is the cornerstone of a healthy relationship, but it can be a significant challenge for many couples. Misunderstandings and unresolved issues can lead to heated arguments and resentment, causing both partners to feel unheard and frustrated. By actively working on improving their communication skills, even happy couples can overcome these obstacles and strengthen their bond.

In his 40+ years of research, Dr. John Gottman identified specific negative communication patterns that reliably predict the end of a relationship. He named them The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
