A word about warts. In my 26 years of being a Podiatrist, plantar warts are THE most difficult thing I treat.

Plantar warts are any wart that occurs on the bottom (plantar) surface of the feet. The skin on the bottom of your feet is the thickest in your body. This, combined with the fact you step on your feet, make plantar warts exceedingly difficult and sometimes impossible to treat.

The good news is that oftentimes it's not a wart, and can be something else like a callous. Also, children generally respond well to treatment. The bad news is if you are an adult with a plantar wart, the treatment is often slow and frustrating for both the patient and doctor. :(

I'm honored to be offered the position of Clinical Instructor at the Faculty of Medicine at UBC.
