Thank you to everyone who participated in the Amazing Race to Safer Care at Gemstone on October 1st!
We had a great time setting up booths focused on self-care and watching staff enthusiastically engage in quizzes at each station. After completing a quiz, participants received a small gift and collected a puzzle piece at each of the nine checkpoints.
At the end of the race, staff used their puzzle pieces to complete a picture—earning a chance to win yet another prize.

Way to go, team, for making education fun and engaging.

Flashback to the first week of August !

It was a hot summer night in the city on Friday, August 8th, but the heat didn’t stop the fun! Gemstone came alive with the rumble of engines and the cheers of excited residents as a classic cars cruised through to show off. 🏎️💨⚡
Residents and families lined up the sidewalks to admire restored vintage vehicles, representing a wide range of makes and models from the past.
Adding an extra layer of excitement, drivers stopped at various checkpoints around the city ( not just Gemstone) to pick up playing cards all in a bid to build the best poker hand. With multiple stops across Kamloops, participants had a chance to win some pretty awesome prizes .🎴🃏🂡♠️♥️♦️♣️

It was an unforgettable night of community spirit and summer celebrations. We are so happy to be apart of this annual event.

On July 23rd, we enjoyed a refreshing and joy-filled Pool Party that brought the spirit of summer right to our doorstep! With tropical music playing, bright decorations, and cheerful staff dressed in Hawaiian shirts and leis, the atmosphere was full of laughter, connection, and sunshine.☀️🌴🍍

Lounge areas were set up with umbrellas, mocktail stations, BBQ, and beach-themed games like “Gone Fishing.”

Most importantly, the event brought smiles to faces, and gave residents the chance to soak in some summer fun.

A big thank you to our recreation team, staff, volunteers, and family members who helped make this event not just successful, but truly memorable.

We found a baseball medal just outside our building today and would love to return it to its rightful owner. If you or someone you know recently lost a medal — possibly from a recent game or tournament — please reach out or stop by to grab it.
