🏃🏻‍♀️Running with my kids isn’t just quality time - it’s exactly what my body needs as I navigate perimenopause and approach menopause.

✔️Zone 2 training (or aerobic training) is meant to feel LIGHT and EASY. Conversational pace. Walking is absolutely welcome. And guess what? My kids are the perfect training partners.

🤗Here’s what this “easy” running is doing for my health as a woman in my 40s:

❤️ Heart health - Zone 2 strengthens cardiovascular endurance (critical as estrogen declines in perimenopause)

🦴 Bone density - High-impact movement helps prevent osteoporosis (weight-bearing exercise is non-negotiable)

🌿 Nervous system regulation - Fresh air, nature, grounding = reduced stress and cortisol

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Quality time - My kids get my undivided attention

As a physiotherapist, I see too many women think they need to go HARD or go home. But the truth? Most of your running should feel easy. That’s where the magic happens for longevity, injury prevention, and hormonal health.

Not gonna lie - I’m pretty proud of both achievements 😂

But here’s the thing… this wasn’t always my reality.

I used to be the runner who had to choose between finishing a 10km race strong and fast but 💦leaking OR

🙄🏃🏻‍♀️slow and trying to keep that bladder from exploding 😭.
