What do you do when your Friday afternoon Happy Hour entertainer has to take a sick day? You call on one of your own talented residents to put on a show for their friends instead! When confronted with a last minute postponement Friday, our Active Living Manager Jamie-Lyn called on our friend Gerry who also leads a weekly sing-a-long for other residents, to ask if he was up for an impromptu concert and he graciously obliged!
While warming the spirits of the Stonehaven community on a winter afternoon was the main goal, giving our residents a chance to share their gifts with others is a fantastic way to keep them engaged. The good vibes continue through today with everyone congratulating and thanking Gerry for sharing his talent. Residents are already asking when his next performance will be!
Thank you Gerry and thank you to all of our active and involved residents who find ways to contribute and keep Stonehaven such a vibrant community!

YEEHAW!! It may be cold outside, but we were warming up our dancing shoes with a little bit of line dancing in here! Stonehaven residents put on their cowboy hats and smiles while they boogied away the afternoon 🎶

Happy 105th birthday to our treasured resident Joyce!

One of our special staff made a beautiful card celebrating Joyce's love of flowers for the Stonehaven Family to sign, highlighting all the love and joy that Joyce inspires amongst us all. This incredible lady is full of life and s***k, keeping us on our toes.

How do you beat the January blues at Stonehaven? We bring in miniature ponies to spark some joy with our residents!
"Hoofbeats and Heartbeats" brought in some new friends to visit with the residents today in our main lobby. So much fun and we got to stay inside where it was warm. Both Joyce and Darquise had fun feeding "Angel" although they both said they felt like she gave them a bath at the same time 😂
Looking forward to their next visit as we really enjoyed "horsing around" with them!!

It's been another incredible year at Stonehaven and our community is more vibrant than ever. It's Christmas Eve, and our favorite guy in red is busy making his rounds for the good boys and girls. But before filling up his sleigh, he took the time to come make the rounds and celebrate with our family and friends at Stonehaven during our annual Christmas party!
There was singing, dancing and lots of laughter as everyone came together to celebrate the season. Our residents proved they are all still kids at heart given how excited everyone was to see Santa! Lots of hugs, smiles and even a few kisses... we just hope Mrs. Claus doesn't mind 😉
With Christmas upon us, from the Stonehaven family to yours, we wish you all peace, love, happiness and health. May all your Christmas wishes come true! 🌠

Another holiday tradition in the books! Today we held our annual Stonehaven "Residents vs. Staff" holiday edition. With questions from where traditions originated to holiday movie classics; from eggnog to mincemeat pie, right up to "what three words describe the Grinch?", everyone put on their thinking SANTA caps to try to capture the title.
It was a close one, but of course our residents expertise and knowledge beat out the staff once again. However, we were all winners in Christmas spirit and making each other laugh.
(Note: the answer was "stink, stank, STUNK!") 😄🎄☃️🏆

Spirit Week is alive and well at Stonehaven!
Our elves, including Mary Anne are rocking the Christmas socks today. Both residents and staff are having fun comparing their festive footwear as we find more and more ways to spread holiday cheer! 🎄

Public Service Announcement! Don't forget to help protect your loved ones this season - roll up your sleeves and get the shot!

Flu season is here, and the best defense is a simple flu shot. By rolling up your sleeve, you're not only protecting yourself, but also helping to keep loved ones such as our residents, friends, and our community healthy! Stonehaven residents and staff took advantage when our partners from Rexall pharmacy came in today to help us stay healthy. We even got rewarded with a sweet treat at the end!
