Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Stonehaven Retirement! 🍀

We had a fantastic day filled with festive outfits, a fun armchair travel experience to Ireland, and plenty of Irish music and trivia to keep everyone entertained. Residents enjoyed delicious lunch and dinner with a Guinness/whiskey twist, and a wonderful afternoon with Sandy Shore—complete with beer and tasty treats!

A big thank you to everyone who made the day so special. Cheers to great company, good food, and lots of laughter! 💚

We were so busy spreading the word today, we missed taking pictures of residents and staff rocking their pink today to spread anti-bullying awareness for . However, we are so in love with Punchy the monkey, we couldn't resist sharing the message from our partners at Ottawa Public Health.

Yesterday we had a wonderful visit from Giddy Up N Go and what a fantastic afternoon it was! 🐐💛

Willow the goat came along with her adorable little friends, Eddie, Freddie and Teddy, and they certainly brought plenty of smiles with them.

A very special moment was when one of our lovely residents was chosen for Willow’s Valentine’s Goat Gram! Madli received her very own little crochet Willow – such a thoughtful and heartwarming surprise. 💝

We absolutely love when all the different animals come to visit us here at Stonehaven. The joy they bring to our residents is truly priceless. We’re already looking forward to their next visit! 🥰

We love how our residents love to help and support one another! When the weather kept our regular Bingo caller away, Ilean easily stepped in to make sure her friends didn't have to miss out. Given the amount of laughter coming from the room, we are not convinced that extra prizes were not handed out 😉
Residents running activities with friends is just another way that Stonehaven's active and vibrant community shines!!

Given that many of our residents also enjoy going for walks in our beautiful neighborhood, this serves as a good reminder to take your time and watch out for other members of our community!

What do you do when your Friday afternoon Happy Hour entertainer has to take a sick day? You call on one of your own talented residents to put on a show for their friends instead! When confronted with a last minute postponement Friday, our Active Living Manager Jamie-Lyn called on our friend Gerry who also leads a weekly sing-a-long for other residents, to ask if he was up for an impromptu concert and he graciously obliged!
While warming the spirits of the Stonehaven community on a winter afternoon was the main goal, giving our residents a chance to share their gifts with others is a fantastic way to keep them engaged. The good vibes continue through today with everyone congratulating and thanking Gerry for sharing his talent. Residents are already asking when his next performance will be!
Thank you Gerry and thank you to all of our active and involved residents who find ways to contribute and keep Stonehaven such a vibrant community!
