In this episode of The MindSpa Podcast, we’re in conversation with Phil Green, founder of Bodies by Phil .

Phil talks about something he sees often in practice: people changing their intensity, nutrition, and routine all at once, and struggling when their body hasn’t had time to adapt.

In this clip, he reflects on why gradual change matters, especially for those who are just starting out or returning to fitness after a long break.

Phil’s perspective comes from lived experience, from finding his way through fitness in his early twenties, to building a community-based studio grounded in sustainability rather than extremes. Now, as a new dad and business owner, that lens feels even more relevant.

This episode explores fitness, nutrition, accountability, and community through realism, especially for people navigating full lives.

Sundays offer a gentle pause before the rhythm of the week returns.
A moment to slow down, notice your breath, and reconnect with your body.

Rest supports clarity, resilience, and emotional balance.
Giving yourself permission to slow today creates space for a steadier tomorrow.

Wishing you a calm and restorative Sunday.

As we step into the year ahead, we want to take a moment to say thank you.

To our clients who trust us with their care.
To the therapists who bring thoughtfulness and integrity to this work.
To the Ottawa community that continues to support our growth.

We move forward together, grounded in care and connection.

As the year comes to a close, many people feel drawn toward reflection and meaning. This moment offers an opportunity to slow down and turn attention inward.

Before moving forward, we pause to notice who we became over the course of the year. Growth often unfolds quietly, shaping priorities, relationships, boundaries, and inner awareness in subtle and lasting ways.

This year may have invited patience, resilience, compassion, or rest. It may have opened space for deeper listening to the body, the mind, and emotional needs. Some changes felt clear and visible. Others settled gently beneath the surface.

Reflection takes many forms. What matters is creating space for presence, honesty, and care. As the year settles, we hold awareness for what it shaped and allow that understanding to inform what comes next.

December light has a way of softening everything.
As the week winds down, our waiting room becomes a quiet place to pause, breathe, and settle before your session.
Warm light, gentle space, and time set aside for yourself.

Wishing you a peaceful Friday evening.

The holiday season can feel meaningful and connecting for children. It can also bring changes in routine, heightened emotions, and extra stimulation.

Supporting a child’s mental health during this time often comes down to presence, consistency, and emotional safety. Small moments of connection can help children feel grounded as the season unfolds.

We’ve shared a new blog exploring how parents and caregivers can support children’s emotional well-being throughout the holidays.

Serving families across Ottawa, Kanata, and Gloucester.

Some questions light us up instantly.

Neurofeedback often comes up when clients are curious about how the brain learns, adapts, and heals, and we love having those conversations.

Curiosity is often the first step toward deeper self-understanding.

Many couples don’t feel “broken.”
They feel disconnected, unsure when it started or what shifted.

In this conversation, Benslyne Avril explains why her work with empty nesters begins with something simple and often missing:
a clear assessment of the relationship as it is now.

Not years of backstory.
Not blame.
A grounded look at emotional connection, family dynamics, intimacy, and shared direction, so couples can understand what actually needs attention and where to focus next.

This is what it means to be seen in the work.
And why clarity, not urgency, is often the first step back to connection.
