I took a spontaneous little road trip to Kaslo with a girlfriend in celebration of buying a car and regaining a sense of travel independence again.

The past couple of months without a vehicle made me realize how much I value the freedom of being able to leave somewhere on a whim.

It also made me realize just how much of Canada is built around the automobile.

I've been trying to live a greener lifestyle over the past couple of years but I find myself very attached to my vehicle (aside from living in it half the year).

Any friends out there have suggestions on more conscious driving practices?

I'm all ears!

Had a lovely one-on-one session with Hannah workshop-ing Hanumanasana/Splits Pose.

As we were working from home we had to get a little creative with our use of props πŸ˜‰
(Note to self: Bounty Paper Towels CAN hold your body weight quite well!)

The forest fire burning in the distance made for an extra layer of peculiarity to the whole scenario πŸ˜…

A little life update: I've moved once again! This time to the small, eclectic mountain city of Nelson, BC πŸ—»

After making my way out West last year, my original plan was to settle down here. I had never visited before, but had so many friends and family suggest over the years that I would find a sense of belonging in this city.

Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances with my vehicle last summer, I wasn't able to make it. I was devastated at the thought of postponing a dream that I was so close to achieving. However, it made me all the more motivated to try again when the time was right.

Looking back on all the hardships of last year, it makes me all the more appreciative of finally making it here. It's a year later than I was expecting, but I'm here nonetheless.

Here's to new beginings 🍾πŸ₯‚

I've found myself gravitating more and more towards the snow since returning home to Canada. So much so that I've placed my meditation cushions by the back door of my house, and frequently just sit and stare out the glass.
One thing I love about Ottawa is that although the winters may be cold, the sun shines so bright and illuminates the snow. It's a kind of sparkle that's both blinding and beautiful.
Winter used to be my favourite season as a kid. There were so many fun activities to do in the snow that I would constantly be outside playing long after the sun had gone down. Guess when I got older and busier I simply stopped making the time for them. The snow became a nuisance that prolonged my commutes, and I found myself purposely avoiding the season throughout my travels the past few years.
But since coming home a few weeks ago I've not only been cherishing my time off work, but spending my days re-appreciating the season I once held so dear to my heart; re-appreciating a piece of home ❄

I finally found a slack line in Thailand! 🀩 Working on balance has always been very meditative for me. I still haven’t mastered turning around on this thing, but walking across is coming a lot easier! πŸ€™πŸΌ

Thank you so much to , and for providing me with so much opportunity to grow with and alongside you over the past 2 years, particularly the past few months. I leave Koh Phangan this time around feeling fulfilled, focused, and as confident as I’ve ever been in myself and my abilities moving forward.
This bird has officially spread its wings and flown from its nest. It’s time to scout some new heights to soar πŸ¦…
Bye for now πŸ‘‹πŸΌ
