Kristi Field Doula Services Empowering Your Path to Parenthood

Providing trauma informed prenatal, birth + postpartum support 🤍

05/08/2026

Oh hey, I’m still here 👋

I haven’t been as on top of social media lately (it just doesnt fill my cup) but I’m still here. I’ve been busy doula-ing at births (hello spring babies!), providing lots of postpartum support, building and launching an app (!! ), prepping for grad school in the Fall, focusing on my kids and family, working out , camping and dancing ( ) each week.

We also said goodbye to our cat 2 weeks ago. We had him for 14 years and it’s taken a few weeks to really settle into that loss. Grief is messy, and I noticed some of my old grief/trauma coming back the surface. I needed some time to let that integrate.

It’s been a busy season, and I’m focusing on serving the families I’m working on, continuing to learn to better serve my clients, building businesses and focusing on my family.

Thank you for being here, and supporting me on this wild ride 🤍

With love,
K

Wow! What an honor it is to be considered again this year with for Best Doula. Walking alongside families as they welcome their little one(s) into this world, whether that be through their pregnancy, birth or postpartum, is such an immense privilege.

If it feels aligned for you, I would love your vote for Best Doula. Although there are a lot of mixed feelings about this contest, it really is just validation that the work of all of the nominees is seen, honored and celebrated.

Voting is open until May 12 at 3pm. Link in b!o - Best Doula is under the Health and Wellness 🤍

• What to do if your waters rupture •

One of the most common questions I get asked as a birth doula: “I think my water broke. What do I do?!”

And honestly — it makes sense. We’ve been taught to expect this big, dramatic moment as the start of labor… but that’s not how it unfolds for most people.

People envision a huge, theatrical gush of fluid, racing to the hospital, screaming then having a baby. That is just an entertaining TV episode or movie scene. That is not how labor unfolds in most cases. (Hint: screaming signals to your body that it is unsafe - using low tones tells your body it is safe, relaxes the pelvic floor and lets your nervous system stay regulated 😉)

If your water does break before contractions start, there are a few simple, important steps to take — and knowing them ahead of time can make all the difference in how calm and confident you feel.

Save this for later (you’ll be glad you did), and share it with your birth partner so you’re both on the same page.

Out of office 🌴

I’m soaking up some intentional family time, a slower pace and some gorgeous Maui sunshine. I’ll be checking emails periodically and will respond as soon as I’m able.

For inquiries, please contact me via my website and I’ll be in touch when I return.

For anything urgent, please contact your physician or midwife, or call Labor & Delivery.

I’ll be back in office January 13, ready to jump right into supporting many more beautiful families with their little ones waiting to join us earthside 🤍

So grateful for another lap around the sun, and for the family that I could have only ever dreamed of. This year had lots of highs and lows, a lot of growth and I’m excited to see what this next year brings!

It also seems like a fitting time to take some time off this app for the next few weeks. This job requires me to be available around the clock, and on call for months at a time so while I’m off call i want to unplug. I want to be present with my kids for the holidays, and then we are off for some (very much needed) sunshine for a couple of weeks! If you need me, please email me or contact me through my website.

See you on the flip side ✌️☀️

✨ Updated Availability ✨

I cannot believe that I am now booked for birth support until MAY 2026! 🤯 I have received so many inquiries for the Spring already - wow is it a busy time for babies! I wish I could take more but I am firm in my boundaries to protect my own space, my family and give the attention to each of the families I work with that they deserve.

I will be taking December-January off of birth support so I can be present for the holidays and (hopefully) a family vacation 🌴

I do have a few spots left for postpartum support in the Spring. If you are interested in exploring this additional support for your postpartum journey, please DM me or contact me through my website!

If you are looking for birth support, please DM me and I’d be happy to provide you with some recommendations of other incredible doulas as well!

☀️ Hello September! ☀️

Taking a month off of the pressure to stay on top of social media content was exactly what I needed for August. Days were spent building memories with my kiddos and hubby, boating, enjoying this beautiful land we live on and welcoming new babes into this world (and new mamas!).

I can’t believe it’s September, and I am ready for slowing down, supporting my kiddos in Grade 1 and preschool, focusing back on work-life balance and supporting amazing families welcome their little ones this Fall!

On September 9 and I are hosting another Honoring Your Birth Story workshop to help you begin, or continue your exploration of your story into parenthood from a deeper level, build community and be held in space of vulnerability. There are a few spots left, and we would love to have you join us! (Babies/toddlers/kiddos welcome. Just show up however you need). Register on my website to secure your spot!

Sending you deep love, and gratitude for being here.

XO
Kristi
