We’re proud to introduce Dr. Alexander (“Sandy”) Wright, MD, FRCSC, PhD, as one of our refractive surgeons at Kelowna Laser Vision!

Dr. Wright is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a focus in cataract and refractive surgery, including laser vision correction. He’s a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and an active member of the Canadian Ophthalmology Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and ASCRS.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Wright made history as the first UBC medical student to complete an MD/PhD through its distributed medical program — a 7-year academic journey that reflects his deep dedication to research and education. He has published numerous articles, presented internationally, and mentors medical students through UBC.

“Ophthalmology is such a beautiful intersection between medicine and surgery,” he told Castanet — a philosophy that shines through in his patient care.
