💙 January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month - a time to pause, reflect, and deepen our understanding of what Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias mean for individuals, families, friends and communities across Canada. This month is about breaking down stigma, sharing real stories, and reminding everyone that no one should face dementia alone. Awareness is the first step toward compassion and change.
Every day, we have the privilege - and the heartbreak - of supporting people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia related diseases. We see their strength, their humour, and the love that holds families together through some of the hardest moments of their lives. We also see how isolating and misunderstood this disease can be - not just for those diagnosed, but also for the people who care for them.
That’s why we are so proud to support - as a sponsor, and to have staff on the organizing committee for this year’s Breakfast to Remember in Kelowna - an event that brings our community together to raise awareness and crucial support for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Through inspiring speakers, shared stories, and meaningful conversations, we honour those affected and take action to build a more informed, compassionate future.
