Kelowna Yoga Hub welcomes expecting mothers to join this Prenatal Yoga and Maternity Support Series, where we’ll explore a variety of topics surrounding pregnancy, labour, and motherhood – with the guidance of maternity specialists – along with a gentle yoga class.

Each class starts with an invitation to ask questions and share experiences. Sessions will be guided by yoga teacher (and new mom) Stephanie Mathura and/or maternity specialists (see below for details). Then we’ll find our space on the mat to engage in gentle movements and poses – safe for all stages of pregnancy.

Yoga Teacher:
Stephanie Mathura is a Hatha & Prenatal Yoga teacher and new mother. She finds joy in movement and helping others find their flow, especially expecting and new mothers.

Maternity Support Guests:
April 19 – Krista Evans is a birth doula. She’ll guide us through preparing a birth plan, the stages of labour, pain management options, birthing positions, what to pack to the hospital, and more.

April 26 – Zahra Tromsness is a registered dietitian and functional nutritionist. She’ll talk us through prenatal and postnatal vitamins and minerals, nutritional gaps that most moms experience, and a few tips for easy postnatal meals.

May 17 – Erin Dykstra is a registered nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She joins us to answer questions about breastfeeding, pumping, formula, and bottlefeeding, and how to ensure the experience is comfortable for both moms and babies.

Cost:
Series = $190 + GST
Single Class = $38 + GST
*This series is limited to 12 students. Visit https://www.kelownayogahouse.org/prenatal-yoga-maternity-support-series/ to reserve your spot.

For anyone new to our neighbourhood at #105-1751 Harvey Ave, it may take a little time to get fully comfortable with the parking and finding our new studio. We gently suggest planning to arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in without any rush. Don't worry, there's lots of free parking close by!

We're fortunate to have a number of dedicated Kelowna Yoga Hub parking spaces in the parking lot of our building, however, if these spaces are full, there are a number of nearby options that are within the surrounding area. We’re here to support you every step of the way and truly appreciate it when everyone builds in that little bit of extra time so we can all begin class feeling calm and centred. If you arrive early, we have the water on for tea and a library with books to browse through while you lounge in our gathering space and wait for class to begin.

We've put together a map of free parkades and lots, all within a few minutes walk of the studio. This can be found at https://kelownayogahub.org/faqs. Please note that any parking outside of our dedicated parking spaces is subject to change beyond our control. Make sure to read the signs and comply with parking requests to avoid tickets and towing.
