Wrist Sprains Need More Than Rest — Here's What Actually Helps
Hey guys, Dr. Cary here! 👋

I recently had a patient come in with a sprained wrist and some misalignments, and I wanted to show you how we approach that kind of injury at the clinic.
First, we do chiropractic adjustments to the wrist to realign the joints and restore range of motion. But healing doesn't stop on the table — I also fitted her with a supportive wrist brace to give that extra stability between visits.
This particular brace wraps around the wrist, loops through the thumb, and secures with velcro so it stays snug and supportive throughout the day.
Here's the thing most people miss: bracing is a short-term tool, not a long-term solution. The real goal is to progressively strengthen the wrist with targeted exercises so the joint can hold its own without support.

That's the approach I take — adjust, support, strengthen. It's chiropractic care combined with rehab strategy, and it gets results.

Behind the scenes.

Working on next month’s theme: Women’s Health (April) — leading into Mother’s Day in May.

Right now, building out the booklet and webinar content. We usually go deep — ~50 pages per topic — because surface-level advice doesn’t actually help people.

The focus is simple but important:
✔️ Get out of pain
✔️ Improve mobility
✔️ Build strength
✔️ Increase energy

This will be from both a clinical perspective and health coaching side.

We’re also working on the B2B side — helping women doctors and therapists grow and succeed in their practices through True North.

A lot coming this month.

Beautiful morning for a ride ☀️🚴‍♂️

Out biking with Marcie, soaking up the sun and stopping for coffee and pastries at Sandrine French Pastry & Chocolate.

Got the bikes cleaned up yesterday, so we’re back in action for spring rides. Simple things — fresh air, movement, and time together.

Honestly, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Spring running gear check ❄️🏃‍♂️

When it’s around 0°C (32°F), it’s all about staying warm without overheating.

My go-to setup:
✔️ Waffle jacket (great for trapping heat)
✔️ Sweats for those colder starts
✔️ Gloves (on/off depending on the run)
✔️ Toque to keep the heat in
✔️ Same runners… probably time for an upgrade 😅

The key is layering right so you can warm up fast and stay comfortable the whole run.

Consistency doesn’t stop because of weather.

One of my favorite spots to run — beautiful beach, great energy, and just a couple blocks from work.

Pushed the pace today. Legs feel strong, core feels solid — and that’s no accident.
A year ago, I invested in a personal trainer, and the strength work is paying off big time in my running.

Running alone won’t get you there. Strength training changes everything.

Foot pain? It might be your alignment.

We’ve been seeing a lot of patients lately for custom orthotics — and for good reason.
