The Bridge Youth & Family Services

The Bridge Youth & Family Services Founded in 1969, The Bridge offers support to youth & families in the Okanagan community. We embrace the Okanagan community with two distinct arms of service.

We work preventatively with new parents and their infants, we support families with various programs and we provide detox and recovery programs to youth and adults. Since inception, we have focused on community and families by working preventatively with new parents and their infants, counselling families who are struggling with their role, and working on behalf of the Ministry of Children and Family Development with young people in our community who are the most marginalized, street entrenched and disenfranchised. Our other arm of service includes our recovery and addictions programs. The Bridge is the largest provider of substance use services for the Interior Health Authority, we provide Supported Recovery Housing, Intensive Live-In Youth & Adult Treatment, community-based naloxone training, Outreach Overdose Prevention, and Withdrawal Management – detox – for both young people and adults. You are not alone, and we are here to help. Please note, we have a few different locations for our programs and services:

Administration Offices:
#8-2604 Enterprise Way

Bridgeway Adult Live-In Treatment:

The Bridge was proud to participate in the Trans Day of Visibility event at the Laurel Packinghouse on March 31, 2026.

Our Etcetera team of Jayda McGregor and Emma Hoegg hosted an information table to share details about our Etcetera program, connect with community members, offer swag, and invite attendees to contribute to a collaborative art installation by creating drawings on popsicle sticks.

The activity sparked a creative way for individuals to express support and celebrate identity.

Bridge staff joined community members in celebrating trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse lives through connection, advocacy, and community engagement. The event created a welcoming and affirming space where stories were shared, relationships strengthened, and visibility amplified.

Many thanks to keynote speaker Mardi Pierone, who shared their lived experiences, insights, and reflections with authenticity and courage. Their powerful message highlighted the importance of visibility, understanding, and continued advocacy for trans and gender diverse individuals in our community.

Today we recognize Trans Day of Visibility, a day to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of trans and gender-diverse people, while also acknowledging the ongoing need for safety, equity, and inclusion.

At The Bridge Youth & Family Services, we are committed to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, respected, and supported.

We know that visibility matters and so does action. It means listening, learning, and ensuring our services are inclusive, affirming, and accessible to all.

Today and every day, we stand with trans and gender-diverse individuals in our community.

The Land Stewardship Team was thrilled to welcome back our partners from the Sənsisyustən House of Learning School at Westbank First Nation at our Cadder location on March 12.

This was the second visit from the Grade 3 and 4 class, who have been working with our Land Stewardship Team on recommendations for a Syilx Medicine Garden at the Cadder site.

The students presented their beautiful, thoughtful work and gifted The Bridge a presentation board of their vision.

They also gave us two books that they made about plant medicines, and a card that they all signed. The students shared traditional songs and stories (and a lot of laughs and smiles) with us.

Our hearts are so full from their wonderful gifts, and from the gift of their friendship. In April, we look forward to another visit to their classroom to present each student with a special thank you gift from The Bridge!

Today we recognize World Social Work Day and the incredible people whose work strengthens individuals, families, and communities every day.

The 2026 theme, "Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” reminds us that meaningful change happens when we pull together; supporting one another, advocating for dignity and equity, and creating spaces where everyone has the opportunity to heal and thrive.

At The Bridge Youth & Family Services, we see this spirit of collaboration and care in action every day through the dedication of our social workers and helping professionals. Their compassion, advocacy, and commitment help individuals and families navigate challenges and build stronger futures.

Today we celebrate the impact of social work and thank those who continue to walk alongside our community with skill, empathy, and unwavering dedication.

Our Story

The Bridge: we transform lives and build community.

The vision and mission of The Bridge Youth & Family Services Society will be achieved by embracing the following core values which guide our work: Acknowledgment of Our People: We value people as our most important resource and work to ensure our employees and volunteers are adequately trained, supported, and rewarded. We work to find a healthy balance between individual and organizational goals. Community Collaboration: We cooperate and form partnerships with other agencies, governments and businesses, for the purpose of providing quality service for those who are supported by The Bridge. We openly and freely share information and resources that will enhance the lives of individuals within the communities we serve, and increase the capacity of the communities in which they live. Excellence and Innovation: We embed continuous quality improvement systems as a cornerstone of our organizational culture and our work. We implement ongoing measures of effectiveness and efficiency, explore the most current research in related fields, and work to meet or exceed the most current standards of programs and services associated with accreditation and best practices in the field. We subscribe to a code of ethics to further ensure accountability. Honour and Respect: We recognize and support the fundamental rights of the individuals we serve, those who work for the organization, and our volunteers. We regularly seek feedback on the experience of those we interact with and take actions to remediate concerns or complaints in a timely and transparent manner. We believe services that are voluntary, involve the program participant, and are the least intrusive in the shortest period of time demonstrate the respect to which we aspire. Inclusive: We strive to provide equitable and accessible services to all, overcoming and reducing barriers wherever possible. As a culturally competent and diverse organization, we model respect for gender identity, sexual orientation, spiritual practices, ethnicity, age, ability, socio economic status, language, and culture. Leadership: We believe we have a responsibility to provide leadership in advancing conversations and progressive social policy change on behalf of those we support and the broader community in which we offer our services. Strength Based: The Bridge recognizes the inherent strength and value in each person with whom we work and believe that everyone, regardless of circumstance, requires opportunity to grow, connect, and be supported. We strive to ensure that all individuals who access the services of The Bridge, feel respected and valued. Sustainable: We operate with a focus on both corporate and individual responsibility to support sustainability: social, environmental, and fiscal. We are responsible stewards of the resources we are entrusted with and conform to our legal, moral and fiduciary responsibilities.
