Happy National Philanthropy Day from the CYAC! 💙

Today we celebrate the community of supporters who empower us to meet the courage of the children and youth who walk through our doors with compassion, collaboration, and utmost care.

What began with a small group of committed citizens has grown into a community that restores trust, nurtures healing, and ensures that no child in our community is alone on the path to healing from abuse and neglect.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who stands with us in this work. Your generosity lights the way forward for safer, brighter futures for the young survivors we serve.

When it comes to supporting children, every detail matters. In our lobby, child-sized couches and colourful games are small but meaningful ways to communicate safety, comfort, and trust, showing children that this environment is designed with them in mind.

Our Community Engagement Manager, Sarah, had the pleasure of joining Erika and Barb from Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise today to sell Season of Giving - 12 Days of Prizes Calendars at the Capri!

The Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo continues to make a powerful impact for the children, youth, and families who walk through our doors. Here's to SEVEN years and counting of fun, fundraising, and community building through the Fancy Pants Golf Tournament! We are so grateful!

We're still buzzing from the incredible Fancy Pants golf tournament! 🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported this fantastic event.

As Ginny Becker shared, "It truly has become one of the fund-raising highlights of our year. It's so fun to take the day and interact with your club members and community on the golf course. It does more than raise money, it also raises important awareness and connection for our work. We could not be more grateful to all of you for being by our side for all of these years and helping to ensure that our work persists."

And a special shout-out to organizer Ray Lewis, who said, "So very glad we could be part of the CYAC story again this year! Such a fantastic organization doing incredible and complex work for our community."

🎉 The 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 Season of Giving Calendar 𝟏𝟐 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞 is officially here!

Here are Ken Ottoson and Bruce Falkins from the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise with our Executive Director, Ginny, on the first day of calendar sales at Save-On-Foods last Friday.

Rotarians like Ken and Bruce are bringing their motto, “Service Above Self,” to life—selling calendars to support the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre at Save-On-Foods locations and holiday markets across the community until December 21st.

As a community, we all share a responsibility for children's safety and wellbeing.

If you suspect that a child under 19 has been or is likely to be abused or neglected, you have a legal duty to report it. To make a child protection report, call 1-800-663-9122. In cases of emergency, call 911.

We’re all responsible to report if we have reason to believe a child is, has been, or will be harmed.

Pay attention and respond- get involved if interactions are inappropriate.
Identify behaviours of concern and trust your instincts- if it feels wrong, report!
If a child tells you about abuse: stay calm, tell them you believe them, they’ve done nothing wrong, and that you’ll help them.
