Our friends at Help Plumbing and Heating Services are back with their 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 in support of children, youth, and families at the CYAC. Last year was so much fun, they wanted to do it again – and we are so grateful!

Back to school is just around the corner!

After parents and caregivers, teachers and school staff are often the adults children see most—and sometimes the first safe adult they feel comfortable turning to when something isn’t right.

For children and youth experiencing abuse or neglect, help starts with a report.

If you have reason to believe that a child under 19 has been or is likely to be abused or neglected, call 1-800-663-9122. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.

For seven years (and counting!) the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo has been putting the FUN in fundraising with their Fancy Pants Golf Tournament – and none of it would be possible without amazing sponsors like Acera Insurance and Traine Construction & Development!

Happy International Youth Day!

Today we want to shine a light on our 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 (YAC), a diverse and engaged group who share their insight on the issues that matter most to young people, from emotional well-being to building a stronger, safer community.

The YAC helps inform our work through:

A Safe Place of Hope, Help and Healing

One in three children in Canada suffer trauma related to various forms of abuse. This is unacceptable.

The current system for helping children who have been abused is not working as well as it should or could. Individuals working with these children, youth and families are dedicated professionals. But they are frustrated that the good work they do is often compromised by the complexity and disconnectedness of the system.

We believe there is a better way. With a shared community purpose, we want to provide the hope, help and healing these children so desperately need.
