Shuswap Notth Okanagan Rail Trail 💕

Thought I would share as I had never been before and it was a super fun day.

Shuswap is such a beautiful area! After a short ferry ride to the trail head, it’s a nice flat and well maintained (new!) trail along the lake and you’ll likely see birds, cows, and turtles 😉

It wouldn’t be complete without a stop to for the best ice cream ever!🍦

Core training can be confusing when various professionals cue it differently.

How Do I Know if I’m Turning My Core On Properly?

Most people are quite good at turning their core on, they just think they need more and start, gripping from all kinds of other places.

✨LESS IS MORE when it comes to Core✨

When you consciously engage your core, make sure that everything else stays relaxed.
then you can build on top of that.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but by your 40s, pelvic floor muscles naturally begin to weaken 😳
Then accelerated weakening in menopause 😳😳

As a kinesiologist of 25+ years, the biggest trend I have noticed is that many people’s exercises are working against them😳😳😳

What do I mean by that?
I mean that they are using the wrong muscles to stabilize or move, they have poor posture habits all day long, their form doesn’t allow them to use the correct muscles.

I don’t tend to teach all the fancy exercises…or at least not until my clients are super strong at the basics.

After all, it’s not about what exercises you do, but HOW you do them that will make all the difference to your long-term health and overall strength.

What’s your take on this? Has your mentality changed towards training over the years?
