Weโve been getting some questions lately on gestational diabetes, and we are here to help! Getting the diagnosis is stressful, but it doesnโt need to be a burden in your already busy life.
Gestational diabetes is common, so whether you are planning on getting pregnant, early in your pregnancy, or have been recently diagnosed, thereโs lots that you can do to prepare and/or prevent complications.
Diet and lifestyle are HUGE in maintaining health, and are the keys to reducing your risk of getting gestational diabetes, and reducing risk of complications if youโve already been diagnosed.
Nutrition is a tough one, thereโs lots of info online, navigating allergies and food preferences can further complicate things - so we recommend working with our registered dietitian that works for your lifestyle and keeps you eating the foods you love, while eating in a blood sugar friendly way.
Staying physically active is another piece that helps manage blood sugars, our chiropractors and RMTs can help keep your body feeling good so you can keep doing the activities you enjoy!
