Are you hanging on to things from the past that still hold you back today? Are the voices of long-gone critics still ringing in year head? Do the things you once thought to be true clash with the reality of your life today? If so, you may have a load of BS – Belief Systems that no longer serve you.

Most of our beliefs were taught to us as children, by parents and other trusted adults. Some of those things still serve us, like, “Look both ways before crossing the street.” Other things, not so much – like when Aunt Helen said, “Maybe dancing isn’t the best career choice for someone your size, ”or (Insert hurtful statement here):_________________________.

This Sunday we’ll look at Belief Systems – those that push us forward, and others that hold us back. And we’ll learn some tools we can use to eliminate the BS that no longer serves us.

A MESSAGE FROM REV. BARBARA SAMUEL

I’m writing to share with my family, friends, colleagues and community that it has officially been announced that I will be stepping away from my role as Staff Minister and Musical & Artistic Director at CSL Kelowna after more than 23 extraordinary years of service.

My husband, Neal Klassen, will also be stepping away from his roles at the Centre.

This decision comes after deep reflection and prayer. As the community moves into a new chapter under fresh leadership, I’ve come to realize that my own path is calling me in a different direction — one rooted in spiritual service, music, and a growing devotion to the work we’re building with CSL Kenya.

I remain deeply grateful for the many beautiful moments, memories, and relationships formed in this community. This community has shaped me, supported me, and inspired me in more ways than I can say. I will always carry the love, the music, and the sacred memories we’ve shared in my heart.
