On dermoscopy, melanoma often shows irregular borders, asymmetry, a mix of colors (like shades of brown, black, and even red), and sometimes a variety of textures.
What many don’t know is that melanoma doesn’t have to appear on sun-exposed areas! It can develop on areas of the body that aren’t typically exposed to sunlight, such as the palms, soles, under nails, and even mucous membranes.
⚠️ Key Things to Look for:
• Asymmetry
• Irregular borders
• Multiple colors
• Size >6mm
• Bleeding or itching
Always remember, early detection is crucial! Regular self-checks and dermatology visits can help catch melanoma before it spreads. Stay vigilant, and get your skin checked regularly!
