If you’re evaluating a Canadian spa line with real selling advantages, this walkthrough shows why Pacific Spas land — and keep — happy customers. Dave (30+ years in hot tub retail) breaks down what matters on the sales floor: rock-solid construction, quiet motors, efficient insulation, easy serviceability, and the Pacific Wave™ rhythmic therapy system that people actually use.

Highlights for retailers

Built to last: 2" fiberglass bottom + insulated sandwich base, tubular aluminum frame (no wood), and aluminum-skinned cabinet.

Serviceable & efficient: Perimeter insulation that fits tight — recycles motor heat back to water and stays fully serviceable for life.

Quieter demos: Purpose-built pumps run cooler (~140°F vs typical ~185°F) with sealed bearings for longevity and near-silent operation.

Plumbing done right: White PVC, glued & clamped — not flimsy clear hose.

Jets customers love: Screw-in jets that don’t pop out; strong leg & foot jets (reflexology sells).

Comfort sells: Multiple cool-off ledges, proper seat heights (from “under-tall” to “over-tall”), and safe four-tier entry steps.

The Pacific Wave™ advantage: Rhythmic massage with 20 power levels + adjustable pulse — more relaxing, less fatigue, longer sessions.

Smart control: Intuitive, child-lockable topside; long-range app control with factory OTA updates.

Our Story

What should you be looking for?

It is my personal opinion, having worked in technical, warranty and sales management positions for four Canadian Spa manufacturers, and after having extensively reviewed the remaining manufacturers, that while each has unique selling features, most larger North American Manufacturers producing hot tubs for specialty retailers (as opposed to box stores) are relatively close to each other in regards to quality, price & warranties. They have to be as it’s an extremely competitive market.

Once you figure out which line has the best look, feel and value for YOU, the real decision comes down to finding a retailer that you feel comfortable with and who has a proven track record in after-market care. Distance is important as there can be travel or trip fees. You want to make sure to be clear and feel good about the level of service that you can expect to receive after the sale and for the years to follow.

This is one of the most important hot tub decisions you will make. - Lorenz Plourde
