In the studio, this little artist (my niece) reminded me that creativity is our first language. Before we have the words, we have movement. Before we have logic, we have imagination.

Recently, I was officially awarded the designation of Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT) with the Canadian Art Therapy Association.
The RCAT credential is the highest professional standard in the field of art therapy in Canada. It represents advanced clinical training, supervised practice, and adherence to the Association’s ethical guidelines.
✨ What this means for clients:
* Many extended health insurance plans now recognize RCATs, making art therapy more accessible.
* Clients can feel confident knowing they are working with a therapist who meets rigorous national standards of competence and care.
✨ What this means for the profession:
* RCATs are recognized as qualified to supervise other art therapists and students in training.
* This designation helps strengthen the visibility and credibility of art therapy within healthcare and counselling fields.
