This long weekend, the studio will only be open for our Sunday Morning Akhanda practice from 10 to 11:30 am to make room for family time!

28 days of gratefulness

Today - I am so grateful for playfulness! This quality both lives on and off the mat. A practice of just trying something without having to “know” all the steps. The ability to step out of the boundaries of comfort and make some magic!

For 6/28, I was reminded of the absolute JOY of holding this sitar and making noises with it.

Challenge for you today… DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Don’t over think it, don’t worry about how it will turn out. Just do it. PLAY!

28 days of gratefulness

And can we just all give THANKS to our props today? Or… props to the props? lol

5/28 and this morning as I rolled onto my mat, I sat on my bolster and thanked it for always having my back! For being there every single day to support me when I am feeling heavy, or tired, or anything at all!

So for all the props that show up to help us along the way… nothing but gratitude!

28 days of gratefulness continues…

4/28 and I am grateful for BOOKS! These magical little gifts filled with words that take us on adventures in our minds. This yogi is always reading something (typically the Yoga Sutras, or some type of yogic philosophical gem, but loves a good memoir thrown into the mix), and can often have a few books on the go!
Reading between classes, or once settled in for the evening, sometimes, I just can’t put the books down!

Thank you to all the authors who put so much time and effort into creating these works of love for those who will follow along with their written journey! Grateful!

Exploring those 28 days of gratefulness

Today - this 3/28 is for JOY! I am so grateful for the vibrancy of this world. The laughter, the playfulness, the colour, the JOY!

Even when we unexpectedly play Holi INSIDE the studio, and we spend months cleaning it up… to this day, the bright pink powder between the floor planks bring a smile to my face.

28 days of gratefulness

Today, I am sharing my gratitude for HAPPY FOOD!
You know, the food that makes your belly, body and mind happy! The food, that is easily digested in your body, and makes you feel alive, light and full of joy after eating.

In our travels and pilgrimages over the years, we have had the opportunity to eat some delicious freshly picked (like this cauliflower Morgan harvested) vegetables, have had incredible tea made with fresh spices, and enjoyed some interesting local favourites that soon became my personal favourites as well.

28 days of gratefulness!

On this 1/28 I am expressing gratitude for all the incredible people I have had the opportunity to practice along side with!

Although our yogic practice is individual, when practiced alongside friends and people who show up lighting the room they walk into - the individualized practice is charged up with this energy!

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of practicing with beautiful people, all over the world, and in some very unique locations. I am grateful for all!

This “whacky wednesday” we bring forward a memory of when .ji.dube ran against in a race dressed as a TRex while flipping pancakes in a fry pan.

Oh, the things we have done to bring joy for our community in the past and love contributing to!

This Wednesday however… why don’t we enjoy some practice!
9am gentle Hatha (great for all - no experience required)
7pm backcare yoga (a practice intended to help bring more strength and support to the lower back)

No Trex costumes necessary (but not turning them away either)

Snow CAN be fun... snow ball fights, making forts, building snow creatures!

That being said, it can also cause some incredible disfortune to the lower back when the fun is not so fun.

Join us tomorrow for backcare yoga at 9am and then come warm up your spirit with Dharma yog at 5:30pm
