In general, Kundalini Yoga, known as the “yoga of awareness,” is a practice combining movement, breathwork (pranayama), chanting, and meditation to awaken dormant energy at the base of the spine. It focuses on enhancing spiritual awareness, emotional balance, and physical vitality, rather than just physical flexibility. Classes are generally designed for all levels and, unlike other yoga types, focus on repeating movements to raise energy.
Meet Donna King!
Donna received teacher training certificate in Kundalini Yoga from Vancouver’s Yoga West, in 2012. Initially drawn to the style because of its strong breath-work and dynamic exercises, it was through that practice where she was first introduced to the healing power of the gong.
She was instantly captivated, fascinated by the wide range of tones the symphonic gong can produce. Shavasana was already amazing ... being submersed in the resonance of this ethereal instrument during deep relaxation felt completely transcendent!
Deeply recognizing the confusion and challenges of our modern world, Donna feels it is her soul calling to provide people with a safe, nurturing environment in which to rest, relax and recharge. It is with heartfelt joy that she shares these sound healing experiences.
