Friday the 13th Is Not Cursed. It’s Misunderstood - And Powerful.
Before you scroll past this… pause.
Take one slow breath.
Friday the 13th has been dressed in fear for generations. Bad luck. Chaos. Warnings whispered instead of wisdom shared. But FabDab exists to change the narrative - so let’s tell the fuller story.
This day wasn’t born unlucky. Over time, layers of fear were added: Ancient myths blamed the number 13 for disruption and transformation. Religious traditions tied 13 to betrayal and loss.
Patriarchal systems feared intuition, cycles, and the untamed feminine - so they taught people to fear them.
Fear is easier to spread than understanding.
The Truth About 13
There are 13 lunar cycles in a year.
13 represents endings that give birth to beginnings.
And Friday? Friday is associated with Venus and Freyja - love, fertility, intuition, and embodied wisdom.
Friday the 13th is not a curse.
It’s a portal.
A moment where what’s misaligned rises - not to harm you, but to be healed.
Friday the 13th doesn’t create chaos.
It reveals what your body and spirit have been holding.
What you resist shows up. What you’re ready to release loosens its grip.
That’s not bad luck. That’s awareness.
The FabDab Friday the 13th Ritual
You don’t need anything fancy. Just presence.
When: Morning or night
Time: 5-10 minutes
Sit or stand barefoot if you can.
Place one hand on your chest, one on your lower belly.
Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts.
Exhale through your mouth for 6 counts. Repeat 3 times.
Now gently say (out loud or in your heart):
“I release stories rooted in fear.
I choose alignment over superstition.”
Visualize anything heavy leaving your body - through your breath, your feet, the earth.
If you wish, wash your hands afterward as a symbolic reset.
Friday the 13th Affirmations
* Choose one. Or let them flow.
* I am safe in cycles of change.
* Transformation works in my favor.
* I trust my intuition more than fear-based narratives.
* What ends today makes space for something better.
* My body knows how to return to balance.
Say them slowly. Let your nervous system catch up.
Instead of asking, “What could go wrong?”
Ask:
* What is ready to leave my life gently?
* What truth wants my attention today?
* What happens when I trust myself fully?
Friday the 13th doesn’t need your fear.
It responds to intention.
At FabDab, we honor days like this - not by hiding, but by listening.
Happy Friday the 13th.
May it bring release, clarity, and grounded power.
