We are back to share another program being offered by our Western Zone Child & Adolescent team!

Parenting can be tough, especially when challenging behaviours get in the way. This free, eight-week program is here to help parents and caregivers understand why behaviours happen and learn practical strategies to encourage positive change.

It is designed for parents/caregivers of children aged 3–12, including those diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, or ODD.

Kentville Pediatrics will be closed Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 for the Easter holidays. We will reopen Tuesday, April 22 at 8:30. We wish all of our patients a great long weekend and Hoppy Easter! 🐰🐣

We would like to bring awareness to the importance of keeping your scheduled appointments. During the month of March, we had 56 patients “no show” to their scheduled appointment. April is not off to a good start either, during the first 4 days, we have already had 10 missed appointments!
Missing appointments takes an appointment slot away from another child. Please think of the 56 children who could have seen their Pediatrician in March if only a phone call was made to cancel the appointment.
Cancellation Policy: We require 48 hours of notice for changes or cancellation of appointments. Upon a second occurrence of failing to provide 48 hours of notice you will require a new referral to be seen. Failure to provide 48 hours of notice for appointments in any of our travelling clinics will result in your next appointment being booked in our Kentville clinic. Do not send emails to cancel or reschedule appointments, please call 902-678-1221.
Prescription refills WILL NOT be provided when you have missed an appointment.

We are so happy to have Dr. Abdelmaksoud working with us!

Dr. Eman Abdelmaksoud: Originally from Egypt, Dr. Abdelmaksoud graduated from Cairo University Medical School and pediatrics residency, fellowship and training which took her to Saudi Arabia, Dubai and then embarked on an immigration journey to Canada. After settling in Saint John, New Brunswick, Dr. Abdelmaksoud dedicated the past few years to obtaining her Canadian credentials and successfully completed her pediatric exams in 2024. She now practices in the Kentville community as a pediatrician.

An important reminder for everyone during this heat wave and for the rest of the summer! This is especially important for our patients taking Intuniv (guanfacine) because it can decrease your body's ability to tolerate the heat and make you more likely to feel unwell from dehydration.
