Healing Pins Acupuncture

Healing Pins Acupuncture Receiving a treatment with me is an opportunity to relax your body and let your mind rest. I spend the warm and fertile months growing and harvsting.

Shannon Reynolds holds a Bachelor degree in management and a diploma in acupuncture from the Canadian College of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, Victoria, BC, and has completed formal TCM studies at Calgary College of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Calgary, AB and Pacific Rim College, Victoria, BC. Trained in cupping, moxibustion, auricular acupuncture, tuina, jin shin do, reiki, sound healing and bodytalk access. My interest in Traditional Chinese medicine began during studies to South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore while participating in a University cross-cultural international management term. These life-changing travel and work experiences shifted my life-paradigm towards intentional cultivation of a holistic view and approach towards the interconnection of mind, body, and spirit. Thus began a six-year exploration of traditional medicines in South East Asia and Canada as they related to her personally. The impacts of this journey were profound, prompting me to complete a 3-year acupuncture diploma. My keen interest in the 5-element perspective of Chinese Medicine, I strive to provide holistic care for clients by means of supporting and encouraging the change, growth and development of mind, body and spirit from one state or condition to another a brief moment of time. I recognize and incorporate the 5 Elements as I gather information from clients through intuitive perception to create an elemental landscape of her clients’ needs. Whether the markers present as physical pain, emotional distress, or mental anxiety, I use acupuncture techniques to guide clients’ bodies back to their innate state of wellness. While the world as we know it is rapidly changing, I am committed to using Chinese medicine principles and techniques to provide safe and nurturing treatments to people of all walks of life. I believe a return to elemental and holistic practices provides an appropriate and strong bedrock from which to navigate the disruptive traumas our bodies and spirits face in our life-journeys. I enjoy exploring and photographing the changing elements of nature in all seasons with husband Ken and two young sons. I feel right at home here in the Annapolis Valley with an innate passion for organically growing plants for culinary and medicinal purposes. During the cold dark months I find myself turning inward to study the stories of the cosmos while turning the pages of seed catalogues waiting for the Earth to be ready for spring planting.

Time To Do It Again—Support Bill C-224
On or about November 17, Parliament will vote on Bill C-224, the renewed version of Bill C-368, a turning point that will determine whether Canadians keep the right to choose natural health products. This Second Reading is make-or-break — if it fails, the Bill dies.

Last Parliament, we fought hard and won when Bill C-368 passed Second Reading and was sent to Committee. It happened because thousands of Canadians spoke up — and because Liberal, NDP, and Bloc MPs joined Conservatives in voting yes. That victory proved that united voices can overcome party lines.

Now, we must do it again.

We’ve made it easy for you to take action. The Bill C-224 campaign page has been built as a complete one-stop shop for everything you need to make an impact. You can send an e-letter directly to your MP, party leaders, and the Standing Committee on Health in just a few clicks. You’ll also find printable postcards, physical letter templates, a form to locate your MP and key representatives, and ready-to-share social media posts to spread the word.

Send Your Letter
After sending your e-letter, we’re asking everyone to take the next step—print and mail a physical letter and call your MP’s office. Every contact counts, but old-school physical contact counts ten times more! Together, these actions will show Parliament that Canadians are united behind Bill C-224.

You can return every day to take another action—and make more noise!
https://nhppa.org/bill224/
Every letter, every phone call, every meeting with an MP counts. We need Canadians in every riding to reach out — to demand that their representatives, whatever their party, vote to send Bill C-224 to Committee.

We did it once. We can do it again. But only if we act before November 17.
Make your voice impossible to ignore. Stand up now for your right to health freedom.

On May 24th and 25th I joined about 80 other acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners for a professional conference from Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia (ATCMANS) and the Maritime Association of Registered Acupuncturists (MARA), in the HRM for 1.5 days of seminars, demonstrations and lots of amazing conversations.
There were insightful presenters, friendly participants and great food. Over the weekend many conversations amongst us were recanting our experiences in TCM school. This led to reminiscing about the handful of schools that are across Canada, our teachers, classmates, and student clinic experiences. It was 19 years ago that I entered my first year of studies. I never could have predicted then where this professional path would led me when I started my studies. After this weekend I am inspired to see where the next 19+ years will take me with this career.

Today is Red Dress Day.

A day to honour and remember the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people across this country.

Every red dress is a story that should have been heard.
A daughter. A sister. A mother. A friend.
Loved. Needed. Missed.

But too often, the silence is louder than justice.
Families are still searching.
Communities are still grieving.
And systems are still failing.

At Missing in Canada, we are committed to continuing to raise awareness, share stories, and demand better.

We remember. We speak their names.
We will not stop until all are brought home.

If you know something—say something.
If you have a platform—use it.

Questions I get asked regularly about being a professional Acupuncturist and that is where did you go to school and when did you graduate?
I started my schooling in at the Calgary college of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in 2006. After completing the 1st year I made numerous changes in my personal life and transferred to the now closed Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC. This is where I completed the acupuncture program and obtained my Diploma of Acupuncture on April 24, 2010 with my sweet 5 month old son in my arms, shown in the photo. Both the experiences of the Traditional Chinese medicine schooling and becoming a mother rewired my brain for both of these new to me roles that I can say I have embodies and settled into over the last 15 years and counting.
