Kicking off our second player spotlight! Get to know the athletes representing Kings Special Olympics on team NS for the 2026 Nationals!

Meet Justin: an athlete on the basketball team.

When asked why Justin chooses to participate in Special Olympics basketball he responded “Because I love the sport, and it’s fun to learn.”

His favourite drill is the defensive side drill created by coach Emma at StFX.

He is looking forward to making new friends and showing these new friends his music he does in his free time during the national basketball games in Alberta 2026.

🎃👻 Our participants are really getting into the Halloween spirit this year! From pumpkin carving and spooky crafts to setting up an awesome “Trunk or Treat” for the community — it’s been a frightfully fun week so far! 🕸️🧙‍♀️

Our folks are gearing up for the trick-or-treaters tomorrow too… fingers crossed the wind and rain don’t carry any ghosts (or goblins) away! 💨💦🍬

We had the absolute best time celebrating one of our amazing participants’ birthdays! The joy was contagious — there was dancing, laughter, and even another participant who baked the birthday cake just to keep the celebration going! 🥳💃

Moments like these remind us how blessed we are to share so much happiness together. ❤️

We are so proud of our participants. One has been engaged with the Human Services Program at Nova Scotia Community College - NSCC, discussing Employment Supports for persons with disabilities. Thank you so much for the opportunities to foster inclusion! Great work P!

What a busy weekend! We had Folks in Kentville Centre Square at a BBQ, and a Hiring Event in Halifax at the Canada Games Center! Needless to say, we work every day for the betterment of our participants and bringing down the barriers and fostering community inclusion.
