Reflective Rounds: A One-Time Mentorship Space for Nurse Psychotherapists

I took a long break from posting on social media last year, and honestly, the business didn’t miss a beat. As we now head into the new year, I’ve been thinking about what many of us are aiming for in our practice; clarity, sustainability, and space to think things through with other nurse therapists. I’m a big fan of mentorship, and if you’ve never tried the group format, I wanted to share something so you can!

I’m offering a one-time Reflective Rounds session for nurse psychotherapists:

🗓 Wednesday, February 4
⏰ 1:00–2:30 PM EST
📍 Virtual

This is a small-group, reflective mentorship space for nurse psychotherapists to:

• think through clinical or professional questions
• reflect on private practice, scope, boundaries, and documentation
• connect with other nurses doing psychotherapy work
• pause and consider what you’re aiming for this year

This is not supervision or therapy, and there’s no expectation to sign up for anything ongoing. It’s simply a one-time opportunity to experience a reflective, collegial space and see whether it feels supportive for you.

If you’re interested, check out the website for registration details!

After a much-needed pause, I’m easing back into sharing.

2025 was a year of steady impact at The Wellness Nurse, one rooted in clinical depth, mentorship, and sustainability rather than constant visibility.

From maintaining consistent client care, to deepening trauma-informed work, to supporting nurses through mentorship and education, this year reminded me that meaningful work continues even when things are quieter online.

I’ve shared our 2025 Impact Report on the website, as a reflection of the care, collaboration, and community that shaped the year. Thank you to the clients, colleagues, nurses, and partners who continue to place their trust in this work.

Quiet doesn’t mean stagnant. Sometimes it means focused. 🤍

Over the next while, I’ll be stepping back from regular social media updates.

The Wellness Nurse is absolutely still open, and I’m continuing to see clients — so feel free to reach out or book an appointment anytime!

I look forward to reconnecting here in the fall! 🌿

This is a great read Mood Disorders Society of Canada

I talk A LOT about how important sleep is, particularly for folks with a mood disorder.

Thoughts about sleep??

🛌 How does sleep affect your mental health? And how does mental illness impact the way we sleep?

The Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) conducted a national survey to explore:
🔹 How Canadians sleep
🔹 What they believe about sleep
🔹 And the deep connection between sleep and mental health

🧠 The findings highlight how crucial quality sleep is for our emotional well-being, and how mental health struggles can disrupt it.

Let’s be honest.
A lot of people don’t even know what nurse psychotherapy is.

But if you’ve ever left an appointment wishing someone had slowed down, really listened, and actually got it—that’s what therapy with a nurse psychotherapist feels like.

It’s steady.
It’s grounded.
It’s trauma-informed and genuinely human.

I work with people who are used to holding it all together. The caregivers. The overthinkers. The ones who are tired of pretending everything is fine.

You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy.
You don’t need a diagnosis.
And you definitely don’t need to have it all figured out.

This is a space where you can breathe again.
Where nothing is “too much.”
Where you don’t have to explain why it’s hard right now.

I offer therapy:
✔ In-person in Cornwall
✔ Virtually across Ontario and Nova Scotia

Book a free consult or first session at mindfullynursed.janeapp.com

And if someone you care about has been meaning to reach out—send this to them.
Sometimes the right words show up at the right time.

We hung these posters up around town - although my office is physically in Kincardine, both myself and our AMAZING student therapist see folks virtually across Ontario.

If you or someone you know would benefit from some lower cost therapy (not lower quality, I assure you), this might be just what's needed.

Yulia is super cool, super knowledgeable, and she's a nurse - so, enough said lol.
