Tip #2 - 90/90 Stretch

Flexibility in your hips is extremly important when swinging a golf club. One of the most effective ways to increase the mobility and flexibility of your hips is with the 90/90 hip stretch. The combination of internal and external rotation involves many muscle groups surrounding your hip joint, including your glutes, piriformis, psoas, hip flexors, hip abductors, and adductors.

Start by sitting on the floor with your knees bent. Drop your left knee down to the floor so the outside of your knee touches the ground and your knee and hip are at 90 degrees. Rotate your right hip so the inside of your right knee drops down and touches the floor with your hip and knee at 90 degrees. Your back knee should be in line with your hip, and your ankle should be neutral. Keeping your back straight, and your hands on the floor behind you, breathe deeply to relax into the position, and then rotate your hips to mirror the position on the opposite side. Aim for 2–3 reps on each side.

To increase intensity and difficulty, clasp your hands in front of your body and add in more reps back and forth.

Tip #1 - Golfer's Elbow Stretch

If you are keen on keeping the ball on the course, the golf swing is a full body movement. During this series of tips, we will focus on exercises and stretches that will have your whole body ready for the course.

A good place to start is the golfer's elbow stretch.
Golfer's elbow is a common injury due to the eccentric load on the ligaments in your elbow from swinging a club. Stretching the forearms can alleviate muscle tension on those ligaments and help to prevent this common golfing injury.

Stretch your arm out in front of you with your palm up. Use your other hand to pull your fingers and wrist down towards your body. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat 2-5 times as needed.

Even if you aren't on the course this stretch can be used to keep your forearms happy and limber.

I am thrilled to report that Epic & Kimura has been officially published!!

I started writing Epic & Kimura because I wanted my kids to have something they could one day read to their grandchildren.

I never expected it to become what it is now.

And how fitting… that this book launched on Father’s Day?

I wrote this for the 12 year old me.

For my kids.
For your kids.
For every young person trying to find the fire that illuminates.

I am humbled by the early responses to the book. I hope that you and your children enjoy the book as much as I have writing it. Here is my latest testimonial:

“Fear of the Unknown, is a gift for all ages. Robert has masterfully woven ageless wisdom, ancient Greek philosophy and everyday life lessons into a magical alchemy of literature on par with the Harry Potter series. In a time and age where fear and uncertainty have deeply permeated our global culture, this book is a beacon of light, illuminating a path of divine guidance. From the first page to the last, you will be enchanted, enlightened and delighted on this heroes journey.
—Brian Luke Seaward, Ph.D. author of the bestselling books, Stand Like Mountain, Flow Like Water, and Quiet Mind, Fearless Heart.

So today, on the day we celebrate fathers everywhere—
I’m launching a story about becoming, about struggle, about the fire we choose...
and about the kind of love that makes all of it possible.
