How I got here

In 2015 I was going through a really tough time. A friend of mine asked me to come to her barn to see her horses. Knowing my passion for them through my life she thought the re-connection might be therapeutic....and she could not have been more right.

That visit lead me to start leasing a mare named Dolly at a private farm in beautiful Wilton, Ontario. This is where my healing started. Many days I would just stand in the field with the horses grazing around me, stroking their manes and crying my heart out. I watched them intently and how they communicated and started to learn so much from them. I gained a sense of peace in my soul that had been missing. Dolly, the mare I leased healed my heart and soul with her kindness, acceptance, quiet strength and grace. My next lease and ultimate purchase was Texas. Texas built me back up. Texas challenged me to the point of questioning if he was too much horse for me and ultimately made me refocus my energy and intent when with him. He demanded my presence and he looked for leadership for safety. I needed to become that person if this was going to work.

Horses have a way of knowing you before you do. They are such sensitive creatures they are able to read our bodies, intentions and minds before we are even conscious about it ourselves. I want to share the transformation I felt with others. I know how much we can learn about ourselves through learning to communicate with horses and I know how much it can improve our lives away from the barn.
